Vehicle description
This is a nice daily driver patina 356 that I recently found in an old shed. The car was kept covered while stored for 10 years. This is a two owner car. The color is a rare and beautiful Aetna Blue. I wish I had documentation and more history on the car. The owner parked the car due to bad health and still today is very ill.
In regards to the motor, even though it is a period correct motor, it’s not the matching motor. However, a renowned restorer from Oregon went through the entire motor and even counter balanced the crank. Also, transmission and carbs rebuilt. The car comes with the original numbers matching case. The owner tells me the motor has less then 10K miles on it but had no documentation to substantiate he claim. The motor is a normal 1600. The motor is very clean as all the tin appears to have been powder coated.
The car also comes with a hardtop. The interior seats and carpets are worn out and may need replacing down the road. All gauges are original to the car as is the steering wheel. No tool kit with the car. Has normal suspension. The shocks look fairly new perhaps replaced right before the car was stored. Tires have good meat but would not trust them. I don’t see anything under the car that would have been upgraded. The paint is an 7. I"m sure with a good buffing the paint will shine once again. The bottom of the doors are showing surface rust only…small little dimples. The rest of the car I don’t see any rust…solid. All the panels fit so good on this car. All close nicely retaining the factory specification gaps of 3mm. Other than a clean Oregon title I have no documentation to the car.
