Vehicle description
I am selling an International Harvester Scout 80. This scout is a 1961 body and is titled as a 1961, but has a chassis from a mid-70s Scout II. It is a great running little scout, runs and drives well on the street and highway (65 mph). I have owned it for about 4 years and have repaired and upgraded some things along the way. Listed mileage is not accurate, vehicle is 58 years old, mileage is unknown.
• Fold down front windshield, and removable doors with roll down windows
• Engine is: IH 304 v8
• 4 speed transmission with T19 wide ratio (6.32:1 first gear)
• Dana 20 transfer case with twin stick
• Rear dana 44 axle has been completely rebuilt (3.54 gears), with over $1000 in new parts
• New Powertrax Grip Pro full billet carrier limited slip
• New Great Lakes Offroad heavy duty powder coated diff cover
• Alloy USA Chromoly axle shafts
• All new Timken bearings (diff. carrier and wheel brgs.)
• National oil seals • New NAPA starter, new alternateor
• Completely rebuilt rear brakes (turned drums, all new parts from NAPA)
• Added a custom built hand operated e-brake
• Stainless steel brake lines (front and rear)
• Heavy duty 1/4" thick bearing retainer plates (on rear Dana 44) from IH Parts America
• New rear .125 wall 2" DOM tubing heavy duty driveshaft
• Tires are 33 inch BF Goodrich all-terrain, purchased about 3 years ago new, now about 5000 miles on them. Spare tire is a lightly used BF Goodrich all-terrain
• Nice Tuffy locking center console
• Scout II pillow-top bucket seats
• Cast aluminum steering wheel
• Autometer gauges
• Rigid LED lights on the front bumper to help with night time trail driving.
• Custom ahh-ooh-gaa horn and red horn button added to dash.
• Dana 30 front axle, also included with sale is a complete later 70s Scout II disc brake dana 44 axle for the front with a lockright locker and some new Spicer balljoints and a few other new parts to go with (about a $1000 value).
• The front crossover steering has upgraded rod ends and 1.5" .250 wall DOM tubing, also can be swapped onto the dana 44.
• The front winch works great despite its looks.
Overall, it is a running driving vehicle, I have used it many times for camping, 4wheeling, or just drive to work on a nice day. Buyer assumes all shipping costs. Will not ship until payment is received. Will also accept cash in person.
