Vehicle description

1960 Vespa 400, titled, new (used) engine, new windshield, disassembled for restoration. Here is a nearly complete, (missing only the tail light assemblies), 1960 Vespa 400 automobile ready for restoration. It is titled in Pennsylvania. When I got it, it was a complete automobile except, for some reason, the tail light assemblies were missing. It has the original oil injection system, and the bows for the soft-top. The top is rotted and will need to be replaced, but coupled with the bows, it is complete enough to have a new top made for it. The original engine was frozen, so I got a replacement engine from Micro Car Lot. The engine has been reassembled, but has not been run. The transmission has been fully disassembled and checked. The original windshield is OK, but it has a small chip, so I also bought a new windshield for it, also from Micro Car Lot, and that is included in the sale. The floorboards will need to be replaced or repaired. There are a number of rust through holes at the front of the footwells, in the spare tire compartment, and some along the edges of the footwells. I believe this car was used as an outdoor advertisement for AAA. The orange ovals on the doors are where the "AAA" logo was painted over with orange paint. There are no metal patches on the doors. I believe the floorboards rusted after the car was no longer driven and the roof rotted out. The rest of the car has very little rust. I strongly urge you to come inspect the car. It is disassembled and cannot be shipped by a car carrier, however, it is small enough to fit in the bed of a full-sized pickup truck or a small trailer. The car weighs under a thousand pounds. I can take extra pictures and can email them to serious parties upon request. The sale includes the workshop manual. I am selling this car only because of health problems. Purchase will require an immediate PayPal deposit of $500.00 (non-refundable), and full payment within 7 days. I will accept cash at pickup, or cashiers checks at least 5 days days in advance of pickup. I can store it for up to an additional 15 days if you need time to arrange pick-up. I received an email from a fellow in Mass. who says that he reproduces the floor boards for the Vespa 400, I will forward his info. upon request. I also received another email from a fellow that has a tail light ass"y, and other parts available. I will pass that info. onto the successful bidder. This car does have a Pennsylvania title! It is titled as a 1960 model year.
