Vehicle description
Listed is my 100% complete(except door tools and door/trunk key) Jaguar Mark IX right-hand-drive saloon in need of restoration. I am offering this Jag with a low minimum bid and a very low reserve because I can not keep it. I have had this classic in dry storage for the past 25 years, but no longer have a storage option nor a place/time to restore it. The car has been kept outside under a good car cover for the last few months(pic). It has a clean North Carolina title in my name.
According to the previous owner, the mileage of 93,517 is the actual mileage. I have never attempted to start it but it was running when it was parked by previous owner before being put up for sale. I dropped about ¼ cup of Marvel Mystery Oil into each cylinder when I put it into storage 25 years ago.
The 8 brake calipers have been removed for re-sleeving and both petrol tanks have been removed for cleaning. T he master cylinder was removed for rebuilding but was in near new condition and was only cleaned. These are all with the car.
I know, in order to be road worthy, it will need tires, an oil change, a battery(s), both fuel tanks cleaned and re-installed, two new fuel pumps(I assume), exhaust system repair or replace, rebuild and install braked calipers, re-install master cylinder, the 3 brake hoses, bleeding, tires, rear windscreen seal(rubber) and a door/fuel door/glove box key. There will likely be other issues, but these are the obvious. I think the exterior has been repainted once. There are minor rust issues at several places on the exterior- bottom corners of doors, around the rear of both fender skirts, at bottom of window posts and around some of the stainless(Pics).
The frame and floor are in good condition. The trunk floor has scattered surface rust(pics) and needs some sanding, rust inhibitor treatment and painting.
The rear carpet appears to have always been covered by the factory included deep-pile over-rug and both are in amazing original condition(pics). The leather is the factory original and is in very good condition for its age. The driver’s side front seat has a 2” split and has some discoloration(see pics). The rear seat leather is in amazing condition for its age.
The bumpers, grill and stainless trim are in excellent original condition. I can not see any flaws in any of the glass. The original owner’s manual and workshop manuals are included. There are no tools in either door tool kits. The rear windscreen stainless trim is with the car and in good condition(pic).
This classic is located at area code 28626 and it’s pickup only, however, I will meet with the pickup person and assist with loading. The buyer is financially responsible for pickup and delivery.
