Vehicle description
You are bidding on my Parent"s Ford Falcon. This would make an outstanding surfing vehicle for the beach or a classic delivery vehicle for a business wanting to get noticed. You are unlikely to find a more well-preserved example of this type of car anywhere. My father purchased this just before their wedding and used it as our main family car for several years; however, it became our second car in the mid-60s and didn"t get driven extensively other than around town. As my father was a sentimental guy and didn"t want to part with is family"s first car, he fixed it up and had its interior reupholstered in the mid 70s but as it lacked the modern conveniences it was not driven much more and was then put in storage in a garage since around 1980 and hasn"t moved since. The vehicle has not been in any accidents to the best of my and my sibling"s knowledge. It does show evidence of a bumper tap on the right rear passenger side. The bumper is not really damaged but there is a dent beneath it. Also, there are some UV wear in the dashboard upholstery (that didn"t get replaced in the 70"s update) that has apparently been filled in with caulk. All the tires are flat so when you come pick it up you will have to take that into consideration. Other than that and a lot of dust, it looks pretty much stock as the day it drove off the lot. It has the optional luggage rack, which really adds to its total retro appeal. This 1960 Falcon is powered by a small, lightweight 95 hp (70 kW), 144 CID (2.4 L) "Mileage Maker" straight-6 with a single-barrel carburetor. Its unibody construction accommodates a coil springs front suspension, leaf spring rear suspension and drum brakes front and rear. This vehicle is equipped with the standard three-speed manual column shift. There js room for six passengers with lots of storage in the back. This is the four-door station wagon, which is not as rare as the two-door version but probably more practical. The title was originally lost and Oklahoma had destroyed all the records for vehicles this old, but we petitioned for a new title and have just received it so it is ready to go. Needless to say, the vehicle is being sold as is with no guarantees of any kind and we have described it as truthfully as we know how. We will try to be as helpful as possible in facilitating its pickup but the buyer will have to make the arrangements for shipping. My sisters and I are mostly hoping that someone will restore this vehicle and make it drivable once again. Good luck on your bidding and please make us happy and proud to sell it to you!
