Vehicle description
1959 Customized Corvette. It sat in a Plantation, Fl. garage for about 30 years. It"s not original but most people argue that it"s a 1962. The vin tag on the door jamb and frame match the clear Florida title as a 1959. Car has a 1962 rear clip and a pinched nose. .060 over 327 c.i. V8. Motor probably needs some attention. Sounds like a lifter or a wrist pin tapping. However, it does run and drive, with some creaks and rattles and no power steering. Remember it did sit for over 30 years. Try and find a running and driving C1 Corvette in any condition for under 35,000. It has a 4 speed with a 4.56 gear in the rear. The motor has a new Edelbrock 600 carburetor, water pump, fuel pump, reconditioned 882 heads, block hugger headers, aluminum radiator and new clutch. It has the original no power drum brakes with new shoes, master and wheel cylinders. The Hurst Competition shifter works but takes some getting used to and may need adjusting. The hood sits on pins, but hinges are available on ebay for 50 bucks. The windshield has a small circular blemish on the driver side at the top as seen in photo. Doesn"t impair visibility. The wiper motor is there but not hooked up and I don"t know if it works. No heater. The soft top is on the car. It needs fabric but the frame and bows look very good. All the lights and turn signals work, but you have to turn the signals off manually. The power windows both work. The battery is located in the trunk and needs to be anchored. No horn hooked up. The doors open and close nicely. Radio is not hooked up. Exhaust was temporarily hooked up to the new headers with flex pipe to get it running. Works but should be redone. There is a broken lug nut stud on one rear wheel. The radiator support is rusted on the bottom but is still very solid. If you want to replace it the part is about 200.00. The rear strut rods were made into traction bars and one is missing. Most of the chrome and stainless trim is either dull or pitted. The rear bumper looks great. The rear crossmember is rusted on the ends near the rear body mounts, but should be easy to weld and repair. Or the piece is around 300.00. The seats and door panels are worn and showing their age but still do the job. The 30+ year old Imron metalflake paint actually still looks really good. It has it"s blemishes and some scratches, but at about 10 feet looks exceptional. I think that this is a really unique looking car that with a little TLC will make a really radical weekend cruiser or even a daily driver. Or a good start for you gasser lovers! Sorry, but there are no guarantees on this car. It is being sold "as is!" It is also for sale locally and I have the right to end auction early if it has not received the starting bid. So hurry up and get that starting bid entered. Hopefully I"ve answered any questions you may have, but if need be contact me and I will answer if I can. Thanks and good luck bidding!
