Vehicle description

1959 Corvette with a 1962 rear clip. Customized many years ago and sat in a Plantation, Fl. garage for over 30 years until family inherited it. Please don"t insist that this is a "62. It is a "59 and titled as such with correct vin number in the door jamb and on the frame. Installed a new water pump, fuel pump, clutch, aluminum radiator, stainless steel headers, and a new 600 Edelbrock carb to get it running. It at one time had a roll bar as evidenced by the round caps on the rear cover area. The red metalflake Imron paint has really held up well for it"s age and sparkles nice in the sun. It does have some scratches and blems, but I think it"s about a 10 footer. It has new tires, and the original not power drum brakes with new shoes, master and wheel cylinders. All the lights, turn signals and brake lights work. The turn signal cancel does not. Horns work, but are not hooked up. It runs and drives. With no power steering, it steers like a truck, with some squeaks and rattles. Remember, it hasn"t been on the street in over 30 years. Not too bad once you"re rolling. The new headers were linked to the old exhaust with the old time flex pipe. Works okay. The rear strut rods were mounted under the rear as traction bars. One is missing. The frame looks really good, but the core support is rusted under the radiator, but is still pretty solid. 200.00 new. The rear cross member is rusted at the ends and is also pretty solid. It is also available, but could be repaired. There are pictures that show those items. There is no heater. The wiper motor is there, but is not hooked up. I don"t know if it works. A lot of the chrome and stainless trim is either pitted or dull. The rear bumper looks great. The headlight trim, I have seen in the past on ebay. The windshield has a weird circular blemish on the upper driver"s side as seen in picture. There are a couple small chips, also. The wheels need polishing. The old Hurst shifter is very stiff and takes getting used to. It probably needs adjusting. Clutch feels good. Battery is located in the trunk and needs a good tie down of some kind. The hood mounts on pins. Hinges are 50 bucks on ebay. The top fabric needs replacing, but the frame and bows look good to me. I have tried to mention everything I can think of that may need to be repaired or replaced. However, I am by no means a Corvette expert and offer no guarantee of any kind on this car. I feel that with a little TLC and time this is a really nice looking street machine. I"ve just driven it a few miles around the neighborhood and really freaked some people out! We prefer that the car be seen in person, but realize this may not be possible. If you have any questions, feel free to ask and I will answer if I can. But, I think I"ve covered just about anything you need to know. Item is for sale locally and I have the right to cancel auction if reserve isn"t met. Thanks for looking!
