Vehicle description

This 1958 Vespa 400 was refurbished in France in 2011 and imported into the US in 2015, at which time was it purchased by the current owner. The car is finished in blue over a dark blue vinyl interior and powered by a 394cc two-stroke twin, which is paired with a three-speed manual gearbox. Equipment includes a luggage rack and a roll-back canvas roof. This Vespa is now offered on dealer consignment with importation paperwork, partial service records, copies of factory literature, a wicker picnic basket, a jack and spare tire, and transferable Connecticut registration. The car was refurbished in 2011 and is finished in blue with a dark blue canvas top. A luggage rack is mounted atop the rear engine lid, and a wicker picnic basket is included in the sale. Cream-color 10″ wheels wear Piaggio center caps and Deli tires. The 400 features an independent suspension with coil springs and hydraulic drum brakes at all four corners. Suicide doors reveal a two-seat interior upholstered in blue vinyl with black rubber flooring, as well as gray carpets on the rear parcel shelf and door panels. A covered spare tire is located beneath the passenger seat. The body-color dashboard contains a 110-km/h speedometer. The 5-digit odometer shows 80k kilometers (~50k miles), 1k of which were added by the current owner. The air-cooled 394cc two-stroke twin is paired with a three-speed manual gearbox. Service in April 2019 by the selling dealer included new fuel lines, cleaning and resealing the fuel tank, an adjustment of the single Solex carburetor, and a new throttle cable. The seller reports that the generator has also been replaced. Copies of factory literature, importation paperwork, a jack, and partial service records are included in the sale.
