Vehicle description
This is a 1957 Pontiac Super Chief Safari Wagon with a 350 Chevy, 350 auto trans and the original rear end. The car has power steering, power drum brakes, tilt column and an up-dated interior. The door panels and wind-lace around the doors appear to be new and in very nice condition. The headliner is also new but has few wrinkles here and there. The rest of the interior is clean and presentable. Front seats are late model but has the original back seat.
All in all the car is very solid for its age. The inner rockers and supports are original and in fair condition. The core support, doors and tail gate all appear to be very solid with no signs of rust or repair. The chrome and stainless trim are in good to fair condition with only the rear bumper show signs of rust and pitting
The car starts right up, runs, stops and maintains temp. New plugs, wires and distributor cap but may need some fine tuning before going on the open road. The paint is rather amateur but still manages to grab plenty of attention. It is definitely a 20 footer with some thin spots and patina for that old school look.
The right rear glass has a crack and the windshield has a few stone bruises. The glass is readily available as this car shares the same glass a the Chevy 4-door wagons.
New aftermarket gauges and steering wheel have been installed as well as an Edelbrock electric choke carburetor.
Not a show car but a great start to a project as a restomod or rat rod.
