Vehicle description
112951149562 NO RESERVE! This car is priced way below value. I purchased it on eBay about 15 years ago for about $7k and have put another $7k in it. This car gets more attention than any car I have owned including my "63 split window corvette. Really fun to drive, which I do only on pretty days.
It is an awesome, eye catching car.
Classic, Canadian built 1956 Studebaker Commander, blue on blue exterior, blue interior. It was purchased on ebay years ago. According to the seller at that time, the car was used in the official Studebaker pictorial calendar as well as other events including the "Mayberry Days Parade" in Andy Griffith"s hometown in Mt. Airy, NC.
There is a little more history. . per the prior owner, it was 1st purchased in 1956 by Eugene Toft in Hamilton, Ontario where he babied it only taking it out on warm days for 12 years. When he was no longer able to drive it regularly, he coated every piece of metal, both inside & out, with Vaseline & then coated the car in wool blankets. The car was kept like this for 20 years.
The original handbook is in the glove box. The undercarriage was coated years ago to prevent rust. Recently, the fuel tank was drained, cleaned & coated. A new fuel pump was put on & the master cylinder was changed as well as all 4 wheel cylinders. One brake return spring was replaced; also replaced rear steel brake lines, rear brake hose, & rear brake drums. 4 new tires were just put on the car.
