1956 GMC 1/2 ton longbed Pickup truck Pontiac v8 BIG WINDOW project Click Photos to Enlarge
Description Up for sale w/ no reserve is a 1956 big window 1/2 ton GMC long bed pickup. 8" box w/ 123 1/4" wheelbase. Clear Wyoming title in my name. It is a project truck and needs restored. I have included a 1955 287 cu in Pontiac V8 engine that did run upon removal. It is NOT THE CORRECT engine for the truck, as it should be a 316 cu in Pontiac v8. Engine is just sitting on wood blocks now. This engine has casting no. 518037 . The extra parts are pictured near the end of photo list. Truck front end is missing the passenger upper eyebrow (or the park light housing is another term). They pop up on ebay but are not reproduced. I have the actual park light bucket stuck in the hole. Truck has custom tail light buckets crudely welded in but no lights wired up. No wood in bed as strips are rusted and it all needs redone. The mice got in the header above windshield (see all pics). They do make this piece of metal. Mice got in header above pass door (see pic). They got in header above rear glass on pass side for a length about half way across. So this means glass must be taken out to do metal work. Previous owner welded in lower front fender panels and outer rear cab corners. He did not do inner cab corners. He also patched some small areas on top of fenders. All these need ground down and body worked smooth. .welding is rough. Some rust on both steps above brace. Some small spots in floors near kick panels. Hood has a few oil can dents I can feel w/ hand. The hood has a dent just below the M in GMC. Front clip was just bolted up w/ a few bolts. .needs finished up. Truck is in Encampment WY 82325 ; 4 hrs nw of Denver and 90 miles west of Laramie, WY. Does not run and no brakes. I can help load but all transport up to buyer to arrange. I can deliver on my trailer if we discuss price/distance beforehand. Please ask questions, be glad to answer them. I will not accept Paypal and only take cash in person or WIRE TRANSFER bank to bank. This is how I have done it for many vehicles and its safe. Wyoming residents must pay 6% sales tax or supply valid re-sale number. Questions are welcomed and always encouraged on any aspect of my sales, I am here to help all I can. Payment and Shipping
