Vehicle description
We offer this Rare Stunning 1956 Austin Healey 100/4 BN-2. We start with a bit of general history and then follow with details of the one we are selling.
A bit of General History The first of the ‘Big Healeys’, the Austin-Healey 100 remains a British Classic with its well-balanced handling and stunning lines. Approximately 4,000 of the Austin-Healey 100 BN-2, 100M and 100S were produced. The major change to the 100 came in 1955 when the second series BN2 models were introduced. An uprated four-speed gearbox and new rear axle improved the overall package, and this was also the first model to start sporting the distinctive two-tone paintwork that was to become such a feature on later cars. The Austin-Healey 100 was the first in the line of the ‘Big Healeys", the 100 in its name signifying its capability to reach 100 mph. With its mechanical`s based on the Austin A90, the 100 had an uprated 90bhp 2.7-litre inline four–cylinder engine and streamlined body giving it spirited performance, and it became an instant hit both in the UK and the US. An absolutely stunning bit of design with underpinnings that enhance the overall package, the Austin Healey 100`s are a quintessentially English motoring icon. Whether purchased as an investment or to be driven, they are a fantastic classic sports car.

The Westlake cylinder head was overhauled by “The Healey Works”. All chrome was resurfaced and in excellent condition. Brakes were completely overhauled with new which included a new master cylinder. It sports an electric fan with over ride. The speedometer was recently overhauled by “Bobs Speedo” complete with new cable. It has a new top/side curtains and a new set of wire wheels from the UK. In 2020 a 100 M bonnet and strap replaced the original bonnet. This was manufactured in the UK in aluminum to original 100 M specifications. The SU carbs were overhauled and tuned in 2020. Exhaust is silencer wrapped. Replaced banjo steering wheel with Moto Lita Hetherington wheel. Horn button and indicator assembly are still all original. Car drives and rides perfectly.
