Vehicle description

1955 Studebaker President Speedster 1955 Studebaker President Speedster This Speedster is a stylish, sporty car loaded with features not common on fifties cars; this was Studebaker"s halo car. It is serial number 7170147, born on September 12th, 1955. It had limited production of only 2,215; All had a top-of-the-line V-8, a 4- barrel carb and dual exhaust. The exterior is low and streamlined with incorporated fog lamps, full length hood and fender spears. Wide side moldings and even a stainless Tiara over the roof. It has power steering and brakes, factory disappearing radio antenna and an AM-FM radio conversion, wire basket hubcaps and wide whitewalls finish it off. This Speedster has numerous awards including AACA Grand-National, Studebaker-International and AACA Senior Firsts. It has been specifically mentioned in National Magazines. I have owned this car for 22-years as the 3rd owner, age and heath trigger the sale. The odometer shows 84K which is 1272 miles a year, it is located in Rochester N.Y. 14626. The inside has factory, diamond stitched, leather upholstery. The instrument panel is machine turned with Stewart Warner gauges including tachometer. The car looks as show quality. Starting up front, the Engine compartment is well detailed, all chrome gleams like a mirror, the paint is excellent, all moldings are straight and polished. The hubcaps sparkle and the white walls couldn"t be whiter. Trunk is beautifully painted, has a new spare on a painted rim, jack and a good plaid liner. The Interior is beautiful with genuine, original, leather upholstery. Door panels and headliner are excellent. All glass, and rugs are excellent as are all window rubber. The engine compartment is of detailed and the entire exhaust system is high-grade Stainless steel. The car has power steering and brakes along with a 3-speed manual transmission. All body panels are original and never rusted; the underside is quite presentable. In its 65-year history it has had 2 Cosmetic restorations; little was needed to bring it to show quality, remember, never rusty. A great car to drive or show. It is also a very competent driver, go anywhere. Located in Rochester NY. This is a significant collector car, unusual, always garaged and pleasing to look at!
