Finished in red exterior with black interior with striking red/black tartan plaid seat inserts. VIN # is FS1519.
This car features a 1972 1600cc air cooled 60HP dual port VW engine with big bore kit, cam, dual Solex carbs, 4 into 1 header with a shorty muffler. Car has German VDO gauges with turn signal indicators within the speedo. Also includes an electric fuel pump and a Kenwood head unit.
Car was built by Classic Motor Carriages in Miami, FL. in 1979 and shows very well today. This was a factory built car and not privately built. This red beauty has disk brakes on the front. The chassis is from a 1958 Beetle that was modified.
In 2012, the car had work done at Vortex Motorsports in Tampa, FL. They put on a new windshield, oil sump gasket, crankshaft seal, valve cover gasket, oil filter, flywheel O-ring, new fluids, including trans., cleaned engine, re-routed fuel lines and tightened the parking brake cable. Also, in 2015, the car had the carbs rebuilt, adjusted and tightened clutch cable.
Car comes with receipts for the work done as noted above as well as very rare factory assembly manual. Car comes with car cover, tonneau cover and a Speedster convertible top.
Comes with a clear MA. title. Car is titled as a 1955 Porsche (great for export). Mileage is correct at 7371 +/-. This car offers tons of top down motoring fun. Great eye appeal and classic looks for a fraction of the real thing.
