Vehicle description
1954Oldsmobile 88 4 door sedan. 324 V8 with a 3 speed standard (3 on the tree). I"ve owned this 88 for about 3 years. I bought it from a Classic Car auction in Montana. The description stated the prior owner had the 324 rebuilt and the car was used very little before selling it. I had the carburetor professionally rebuilt and added a new voltage regulator. The engine runs very well with no unusual noises or smoke. It has an aftermarket electric fuel pump. I also added a temp gauge as the original didn"t work. The 3 speed works good, and the car runs and drives good. (considering its a 65 year old car with a manual transmission and manual drum brakes) The transmission does need a new rear seal as it does leak some. I"ve always filled the gear oil. It has a single exhaust with a glass pack. The body is very solid with no visible rust thru. I believe the main blue color is original. The paint has faded off some of the top and other surfaces and has some surface rust, I think some call it patina. The right front fender had been replaced at some time. I tried to match the color as close as possible. The wheels are off a Chevy truck and are painted the same blue as the fender. I bought the tires used and they are old. The rears are too big and will rub when making a sharp turn. I can include a set of original wheels and hubcaps if desired. The drivers side glass is cracked. All the rest are good. I put a brand new windshield and seal in it. The wipers work bit I"ve never put blades on. After investing $800.00 in the new windshield I committed to never driving in the rain. The interior is in good shape. The prior owner put in new carpet. When I got it the seats were starting to come apart so I bought a NOS set of seat covers that match up pretty well. The headliner is starting to come apart and is missing some sections. Most of the gauges work. The lights work. The radio and interior light work. I have driven it to several shows and back and forth to my house, but have never tried a long distance in it. I have never experienced any problems. The Olds is located at my business warehouse near downtown Oklahoma City.
