Vehicle description
This auction is for a 1931 Oldsmobile Model F-31 suicide 4dr sedan. This is a car that was stored in a barn for years in the state of Rhode Island until my friend purchased it a couple of years ago. He has asked me to list it for him as he does not own a computer . Just to tell you a bit about my friend Larry. He has built and owned many vintage vehicles and street rods over his life time. He is an excellent mechanic as well as body man. He would rather fix then replace parts and is great at fabricating . He is one of the last old school guys out there and takes pride in all his work. Now about the car. This is an absolute rust free solid original car. Except for the roof paint the rest of the body is original paint (like a deep burgundycolor) it is well worn from over the years but if you wipe on some Wd 40 it brings it out. He did paint the top part of the roof black and then aged it to look like the rest of the car. The body was taken off the frame , the frame cleaned and painted. He wanted to keep everything Oldsmobile so he installed a 1955 Olds rear end with 308 gear ratio, 55 Olds front brake drums and spindles, 1970 Olds dual master brake cylinder and proportioning valve, 1964 Olds 394 V-8 2bbl with auto trans all rebuilt. Has a 55 Olds steering column . The steering wheel took over 40 hours to make. It is a combination of the out side part being 61 Chevrolet and the inner portion 54 Olds and shortened 2 inches. The dash is made up of vintage Stewart Warner gauges, Car is riding on bias wide white wall tires. Steel wheels with 55 Olds spinner hub caps. New 4 core radiator. Original seats have been redone . Door panels are flat card material. He does have the rear arm rests. Carpets are new also. Complete new roof insert and underlayment . all the glass in the car is in remarkable shape . Windows all roll up and down with ease. Doors shut with a click of the finger. He liked running it with the motor showing but does have the complete hood which will be included. Also has the brackets and hold downs for the dual side mounts. The only thing non functioning is the E brake just needs front cable. He also has the rear trunk rack if you want it. Has been all hand pin striped to really have that old school cool factor. The body tag reads job # 31409 body 11199. The wheel base is 112 inches. There is a 71 and an 8 factory stock mark that is still on the fire wall. This is a get in turn key ready to go Street Rod. Front fog light plate toppers and raccoon tail are not included. Will have a Maine registration should you require a title in your state. we require a $500 dollar non refundable deposit at the close of the auction and balance to be paid within 3 days of auctions close. If you need more info or pics please feel free to call or email us at days or 207-432-2862 eves and Sundays.
