Vehicle description
1954 Buick Special 264 Nailhead V8 Condor Yellow (original colors) This has been in our family for over 50 years. My Father purchased it back in the 70"s and it sat for years (indoors) before he restored it. The paint is far from perfect. It is single stage and there are many coats, but it was painted outdoors. There are some runs and bubbles, note the photo that shows paint rubbed off where the hood closes. The Coker tires are over 10 years old. The speedometer cable broke 2 years ago, but I only have had the car out a handful of times just to keep it running. This is why I"m selling it. The mileage shown is close and is original, it might be off 20 miles. It does blow a puff a smoke from the exhaust when you start it, but it clears quickly. There is a small coolant leak that I think is from the water pump as the radiator has been out of the car and pressure tested. The battery needs replaced. The brakes should be gone through, but my Dad and I replaced the rear pads a few years back.
Now that we have all that out of the way here"s the good: Car runs and drives and stops. There is an electric fuel priming pump mounted on frame for starting. I rarely use it as I had the fuel pump rebuilt. The transmission was rebuilt and torque tube ball seal replaced. Still leaks a little, but it"s a DynaFlow. Interior fabric on the seats and carpet replaced with correct material. Door cards and vinyl on the seats are original. Headliner is new. Bumpers were done by Paul"s Chrome and it holding up well. Radio works. Carburetor is a Stromberg that I purchased from a place in AZ (forget the name, but probably have the paperwork). I still have the original. It comes with a bunch of parts. Including a new water pump, chrome trim, grille, carb, air cleaner, speedo cable, and other parts. I have a lot of photos stored on Google that I can share. Including shots with it on my lift, plus I have a couple videos of the car running. I tried to be as honest as possible in the description. The car runs good, but do not expect to drive it across the country home. It did win 3rd Junior at Hershey about 8 years ago. The judge called me after to walk through the issues that kept me from getting 2nd. The car had halogen lights and radial tires and that"s why we got 3rd. I was just happy that I was able to show the car my Dad always wanted to show at Hershey. I was one of the few to actually drive the car to and from the show. 1st place went to a 54 Ford that just finished a rotisserie resto, so there was no touching that. The last picture is me 42 years ago playing in the car. Please reach out if you have any questions and I will get them answered ASAP. Thank you for looking!
