1953 was the LAST YEAR Ford used their LEGENDARY "Flathead" V8 before switching to the more modernly designed OHV "Y Block" V8 for the 1954 model year.
Equipped with a factory choke for the occasional cold-morning start, this car is a TRUE time capsule, showcasing 1950s Americana style and technology in a beautiful, practical manner. This car runs on a 6-Volt, Positive Ground battery system and still functions almost exactly as it did back in 1953! The car does have a few touches of modern technology - The front seats have been updated to provide a level of comfort more fitting for today"s driver, and the fuel pump has been upgraded (runs on a separate, trunk mounted 12v battery for improved reliability) - however, the rest of the car"s interior, exterior, and drivetrain are ORIGINAL and PERIOD CORRECT.
