Vehicle description
1950 Buick Super 8 Riviera Edition production numbers were limited to 56,030. A true two door hardtop designed by GM"s Chief design team headed by the legendary Harley Earl.
I will be asked why I am resisting this car. I am re-listing because the previous high bidder did not appear to understand how auctions work. He did not pay the deposit and did not respond to communication and had (0) transaction history. That was unfortunate for me and now for him but life goes on.
This car is from Hobbs New Mexico and still has New Mexico license plates from September 1986. It has been in storage since 1986 only occasionally being started and driven. The paint on the car is perfect for the Patina crowd. It is the original paint as far as I can tell.
Car is complete and can be driven. It is exactly as it was when I pulled it out of the building where it was stored. Somebody will ask so I will tell you now, no, you should not expect to drive it home, you should put it on a trailer or transport.

The only rust I have found on the car is the driver side front floor board where there is some rust through smaller than a soft ball. The driver floor could be repaired but replacement panels are inexpensive and fairly easy to weld in. The rest of the body is solid, straight and rust free. Rocker panels are solid, trunk is solid. There is a small dent in the driver door.
All the chrome and stainless is present and in very good condition( video link will show you all of the stainless trim). There are 4 original wheel covers on the car in remarkable condition. The glass is in very nice condition, no de-lamination, no cracks or chips.
The hood ornament was not on the car when I picked it up but it was in the glove box so I put it on.
The original fuel tank is dented and has a leak. The tank is repairable but I am including an original fuel tank that is in excellent condition. The extra tank came from a friend"s daily driven Buick Super 8 he is modifying with a later model frame and LS engine.
The tires are at least 40 years old. The spare still has whiskers on it. If you are shipping, the tires should be replaced so the shipper can manage the car. If you are picking it up yourself, two tires hold air but will go flat in about a day or so, the other two tires hold air without leaking. If you have having the car shipped I can put a set of new tires on it for $312.00 which will be in addition to the ending auction price. I have a source where I can get four new P235/75R15 mounted and balanced for $312.00 tax included. I will not charge anything for getting them put on the car. You will get the receipt for the tires which have a 50,000 mile warranty. I brand new set of Port O Walls (fake wide white walls) I can put on the new tires for $85.00 for 4 wheels which will be in addition to the ending auction price and the cost of new tires. People where putting them on cars since the 50s. They give you the look for a very low cost.

I have shipped several vehicles internationally and the process is familiar to me. Within reason I will assist in necessary customs forms and declarations. Payment for deposit and purchase must be made in US Dollars. If you are shipping internationally I will within reason assist you in packing other purchases of parts or other unrestricted items inside the vehicle with the understanding that all items will be declared on customs forms.
