Well I bought this 1949 Hudson Super 6 to pillage for my 48 Commodore hot rod but I simply can"t cut up a super solid original car. I just took 30+ photos and 2 videos of it running and a walk around. I also have video of me driving it through all 3 gears on local streets.
Just checked and the VIN plate and the Engine numbers match! 4912522 on both engine side and the VIN plate in the pass door side.
Manual transmission 3 on the tree. No overdrive.
She starts stops and shifts great. I have not attempted freeway driving as of yet . Brakes were rebuilt including lines and drums. Original master cylinder has been rebuilt. Still has 6 volt system. All lights work except the clock and radio. Even the Hudson hood light works! The heater blows air.
Gauges are not working but fuel pump does. Carburetor was rebuilt with Daytona parts Group kit and tuned this week. Have all window moldings, window cranks, door handles, side trim, fender skirts, etc. 4 brand new tires all around. The keys even work the door locks and the glove compartment! Front glass is in good shape on both sides, rear glass needs to be replaced on both sides. Far-most vent windows are intact with no cracks but do show signs of fogging. All windows roll up and down (vent windows open / close) as expected.
Roof is peeling. Paint is 10 or so years old and most assuredly needs redoing. Seats were recovered at time of paint. Extra seat cloth/material included to make a rug, door cards, etc. Headliner installed but bows a bit.
No holes in floor. Frame and underneath is very solid.
I have Rhode Island paperwork from the dealer to the prior owner. i do not have a registration or a title - so please keep this in mind. It"s also why i have dropped the price.
