Vehicle description
Nice low mileage, running 1949 Crosley station wagon with a very solid body. With the exception of a few dents, fenders, hood, tail gate, sills, rockers, roof, doors, rear floor, frame and side panels are in very good condition. Driver"s floor has been covered in aluminum in order to provide a base for bolting in the seat. Passenger floor is much better than driver"s, but it too should be replaced. Footwells also should be replaced (see photos). There are several replacement floor panels included in the auction (see last photo).
Engine runs and both clutch and transmission are apparently operating properly. I did not drive the car because of a loud growling in the rear end.
Seats and headliner are there, but need to be redone. Car looks very complete, but is missing a few parts including air cleaner and front turn signal lenses.
Car needs to be restored or could be made into a decent driver without much effort.
Car can be viewed in Burlington, Wisconsin. Inexpensive delivery to Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York and western New England can be arranged if you are not in a great hurry.
