Vehicle description
This is a very very early GMC "new design" pickup. 1947 with serial number 1836, very early low vin for this body style. 6 lug half ton.
These early trucks had many unique features that were not kept long into production. I will list a few- no ribs in firewall, inner cab corners were sealed off with a hole to reach tru, different cab mounts, 3 bar grill, car style front bumper, grill has support bars thru to frame, no rain gutter in cowl, the list goes on. . This is a 66137 original mile truck that wears 100% original paint everywhere. Was parked in 1982 when the carrier shaft broke. The truck is a half ton (long bed) They are 8" longer than the short bed. They have an 8" shaft that connects the trans to the rear torque tube. I have a nice original replacement as well as the original broken one. Sitting since 82, motor does turn over fine. Will fire with gas down the carb currently. Needs battery, brakes fuel tank cleaned and exhaust replaced at minimum. I have the 4 original wheels and it is on a set of rollers that come with it too.
All glass is good. Bone sick truck, never altered in any way. Original spare tire holder under bed. I have clear matching CA title (old pink slip).
I can ship to port of Oakland/richmond for $250 and Los Angeles/ Long Beach for $350
