Vehicle description
This 50 year old still looks like a teenager. I"ve owned and loved this car for over 20 years. Zero rust - very straight body with original rare high-power (M-Code) engine and transmission.
Dual flowmaster exhaust sounds great. Runs and drives well but has been stored for last 10 years. I keep it registered and start it every month and usually drive it about 500 miles a year around town. No problems with stale gas.
Paint is shiny but has chips in places and could use a repaint. Power top is older and works well, seals well with no holes, but rear glass window could use resealing. Interior is in great shape.
This is a great project to drive while repairing minor things to get it to show quality (brake lights don"t work, A/C complete but inoperable). The 351 Cleveland M-code engine is highly desirable and rare in these cars - it was the pre-cursor to the Q-Code Cobra-jet and has better compression and more power than the Q-codes. Check prices on 1971 mustang convertibles - this car is worth investing in.
