Is this or are you about to read an essay? Sorry in advance. So, I guess today is the day, its finally time to take my final Clownshoe off. I have had the pleasure of being the custodian of this wonderful breadbox since September 19th, 2015. I actually bought this car by mistake, but boy did it turn into a wonderful mistake. Turns out you can actually put your reserve $1 over the asking price. So yeah, theres a lesson in that haha!
So anyways, the car is located in Sunny South Florida. So, put your sandals on, take the shorts outta storage, maybe grab yourself a hot babe and take a trip down to Miami. If you don’t have yourself a hot babe I promise you this car will get many-a-lookin. Just cruise on down Ocean Drive and bingo bango, she’s a looker. Just make sure to bring your favorite cassette! WARNING if you"re an introvert, DO NOT BUY THIS CAR, out of 62 visits to the gas station during my ownership, there was a 67% chance that someone will make a comment about this super neat car.
Anyways…I’m done telling bad jokes, so onto the car. She’s not perfect. I will start off with that, the first problem is I have way too high expectations. Is that why I’m single? Everyone thinks she looks great! So, keep in mind this is a 23-year-old car, for the first 16 years it was garage kept, during my ownership it was not. This is partially why I want to sell it as I truly feel terrible about this. She deserves better. I purchased the car with 24,500 miles and its currently sitting around 36,500. It was never my daily driver.
When I say it’s not perfect there are very minor flaws on the paint. A decent amount of rock chips that truly irk me. Some have a hint of rust color already, but nothing where it"s getting under the paint. I have tried to take a photo of every single one so you can see, but I may have missed some of course. See the link at the top to access over 80 pictures! Besides that, there are a few areas where it was sort of lightly hit and I photographed those as well. I never got around to fixing it, so I will give you that pleasure! I think you may have noticed this isn’t your typical car ad, I am a very honest seller, probably too honest, but I want to make sure you are well informed in your purchase or in your decision to come down and see it. To not waste anyones time. So, with that being said, if you’re willing to look at my weird face, I’ll be happy to FaceTime with any prospective buyers and go over everything with you.
The car itself drives amazing! I love it. Everyone that has driven it, gets out with a huge smile. Did I mention it has a Dinan Supercharger? Well, it does. Supposedly it adds 50% horsepower but honestly, I don’t really know. I used to own a non-supercharged shoe at the same time as this one and there was a HUGE difference between them, that I know. This thing drives like the fastest go-kart in the world. It’s a blast!
So as per the last owner I was told it has the Dinan Supercharger, which I can confirm, it’s in there, I saw it. Other items that the previous owner had done include Free Flow Exhaust system, Front Big Break kit that say Porsche on them. Don’t ask, because I don’t know, I always said I would paint them, I didn’t. Okay now here’s a few more things that apparently are on the car, but I don’t really know. The truth about me is I suck when it comes to the mechanical part of cars, I just like looking at them and driving them. Anyways, if you tell me where to look to find these things, I will show you. Aluminum fly wheel, modified computer chip, and lowered suspension. That’s what the old listing had.
So, let’s talk about the elephant in the room here, the stripes. They are not for everyone; they were certainly not for me. Bad news, they are painted. *The reader sighs*, good news is, maybe repaint the car and get it looking 100%. Truth is I have had some people tell me they liked the stripes, so hopefully you do too! Plus, I heard they add 8 HP per stripe. Can’t confirm that though!
Okay so other “issues” with the car all of which I took photos of, and that I can think of. Little crack above the AC button on the center console. With most of these cars the driver bolster is a bit beat up, but this one is pretty damn good I would say, but still shows signs of wear. There is a decent scratch across the driver seat, that was caused by a back pocket zipper. (I about cried that day) Little trim piece around the door speaker is broken. Stain on the rear trunk cover thing. Also back there a trim piece on upper trunk lid just broke recently, I found the part but its backordered, its only $50. The seats sway back and forth some times. This is a very common issue with these cars. Something about a plastic bushing and upgrading it to a metal one.
Some nice things I added, a little OEM Plus feel. Illuminated ZHP short shifter. Alcantara shift boot with M stitching. Alcantara arm rest which truly is a game changer compared to stock. The floor mats look very good as well. The rear mat is also nice with an M logo that I got off the forums. The car does have a moon roof, I put this little plastic sunshade thing on it, so you will see that in the photos. Another awesome part, the OEM Roof Rack, I personally love it, I bought this a long time ago, it was on my other Coupe, it was impossible to find, found it in Israel, paid an unreasonable amount of money for it, I’m pretty sure this is very rare still, and it will come with the car. The rear trunk spoiler is also not stock. It’s a rare G-Power Spoiler that I had paint matched to the car. To be honest it kind of has a different blue to it though, maybe it’s the way the sun reacts with that material though.
For the exterior take a look at the photos (link up top) of the front passenger side of the car, that’s where there is some paint missing from a “hit” and also on that passenger mirror. The seals on the door are also rotting. That’s that Miami sun for you. It does have predrilled holes if you need to add a front license plate and I believe I still have the mount somewhere. There are the obvious door dings and rock chips that I have tried to photograph all of them. The hood has a few strange little dings and scratches. (All photographed). The Roadstar Rims are in surprisingly good shape, but of course has some curb rash. Like I said for the most part the car looks great! I hope you will see it that way too.
Anyways, I think it’s about time I wrap up this essay. Sorry for my poor grammar, my English teacher would not be proud! In terms of the price, I guess it’s never truly firm per say. The reality is I don’t need or truly want to sell the car so there’s that. Truth is we all know these cars are just going to keep increasing in value. However, feel free to send me an offer, but again I rather you see the car in person or at minimum FaceTime with me. I have followed the market of these cars for the last 10 years. (Shoutout Jon, you rock!) It’s by far the cheapest one around, sub 50k miles. Plus, you get the supercharger! But then I guess take away some for the stripes…lol. I truly consider the car to be in amazing shape considering the age, but there are of course the flaws that I have outlined above. I can’t wait for you to drive it. Whatever happens though, the selling price must end in $368. That part is non-negotiable my friends. All the best! Im going to go cry now
