Seven Hills Motorcars is proud to offer this beautiful 1979 Z28 Camaro in excellent condition with the highly desirable 4-speed manual transmission. This Z28 looks amazing, runs well, and drives great. The car has great lines. This is an excellent opportunity to own a classic 4-speed Z28 Camaro that is ready to be used and enjoyed at an unbeatable value. One could easily buy this car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in years to come as these F-Body"s are appreciating fast and the market on them is red hot right now. This Z28 Camaro is completely "Numbers Matching" with the proper part numbers and appropriate date codes on the major components. The last six digits of the VIN are stamped on the engine pad, which is pictured in this ad, meaning the engine is the original unit that was installed in the car new at the factory in Norwood, OH. The transmission is also original with the last six digits of the VIN stamped on the main case and pictured in this ad. This Z28 is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combination of Blue over Bright Blue. The original mileage is verified not only by the condition of the car, but also the clear Ohio title, pictured in this ad, that states the mileage as "Actual." Please peruse all of the photos, numbers, video, and information in this ad to get a true sense of clean, nice, and original this Z28 really is. As a side note, this Z28 Camaro is not a dealer auction vehicle. We hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our classics come from owners who expect their cars to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the Camaro, just give us a call. Exterior The blue exterior is in excellent driver condition. As one can see in the photos, the paint has an awesome gloss, dazzling shine, and smooth finish. The trim and decals are in amazing condition with no fading or peeling. The factory turbine rally wheels are great condition with a brilliant finish and no curb rash. The BF Goodrich Radial TA raised white letter tires have 90% tread left. There are no major blemishes that have been intentionally excluded from the photos. There are some very small imperfections, rock, chips, and tiny bubbles around car that were too small to show up in pictures, but nothing else that is really noticeable from about five or ten feet away. As one can see in the many photos of the underside the bottom of the car is clean. There has been some repair on the rear frame rails. We have included specific photos of the spring perches, rockers, lower quarter panels, and other areas most prone to rust on a second generation Camaro to show how this car looks. Window Date Codes Please note that almost all of the glass on this Camaro, both pieces of door glass and the rear window are all date coded and original as each piece predates the car"s body build date of the first week of October, 1978 (10A). Original glass is a good indication that this car has had no major accident history and never sustained significant damage. Interior The bright blue interior of the Z28 is in fantastic condition. The seats look just in person as they do in the photos with no split seams, rips, or excessive wear. The seats are not overly worn in the typical area on the bolster where the driver gets in and out. The gauge faces are crisp and clean and the lenses are clear. The carpet is also in great condition with no stains, rips, or holes. The door panels are in good condition overall and fit well to the doors. The door pulls are solid and in tact. The radio works well, and gets good reception. The dash looks great with no sun fading; there is a one small crack, which is visible in the photos. The original package tray is in nice shape and not faded or warped. The car has not been smoked in, there are no burn marks and no aroma of cigarettes. The truck is in nice shape and complete with the original space saver, inflator bottle, jack, and jack base plate. Camaro interiors from this era are not known to wear well and the excellent condition of this interior is a huge testament to the meticulous care this car has received throughout its life. Mechanical This Z28 seems to be in great mechanical condition. The car starts right away every time, runs well, and idles smooth. This Camaro is a wonderful driver that feels great on the road and at highway speeds. In the video below one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 65mph, shifting through all the gears, braking to stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that there are no strange noises or vibrations and the car performs quite well overall. The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side or the other. The shifter is tight, the transmission does not pop out of gear, and the clutch feels good. This Camaro has plenty of power and is quite fast. Also, the engine compartment is beautifully clean, detailed, correct, and original as one can see in the photos. The horn works as do all the exterior lights, interior lights, wipers, and the blower for the heater on all speeds. All of the gauges work with the obvious exception of the clock. The power locks work, but are a stiff. The a/c does not blow cold, but the system is totally complete and there is a belt on the a/c compressor so it may need to be recharged. The car now has a true dual exhaust system with no catalytic converter and a very healthy exhaust note as one can hear in the video. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with the 4-speed manual transmission. Overall Condition Overall, this 1979 Z28 Camaro is in excellent condition. The originality, manual transmission, and the beautiful color scheme make this car particularly sought-after and hard to duplicate. Low mileage and original examples of the second generation Camaros are hard to find and draw a huge premium in the current market, this is especially true for the more desirable examples with the 4-speed. Numbers matching and originality is extremely important in Camaro pricing and as one can see this car is very original and correct. Cars like this are the Barrett Jackson stars of the future. This Camaro always gets a ton of attention driving down the road. It is very apparent that the vehicle has been well taken care of by its previous owners. The prices of second generation Camaros have increased drastically over the past years. They are secure and wise investments for a collector. One could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort. Other sellers are not taking the time to show the car is in such great detail with so many photos and a video as well as giving you all of the other numbers. As stated above, numbers matching is extremely important in Chevrolet pricing and will become even more important as time passes and this car becomes older and even more rare. This information is very valuable and important for pricing. Any perspective buyer, for any of our vehicles or from other sellers, should ask for all the numbers and information before he or she makes a purchase. Thank you for looking and please do not hesitate to email or call with any questions. item number description VIN 1Q87L9N511368 The first digit, "1," indicated the Chevrolet division of GM. The "Q" is the series, Camaro. The "87" is the body style, 2-door sport coupe. The fifth digit is the engine, L, correct for an z28 car. The sixth digit, "9," indicates the model year, 1979. The "N" is the plant where the car was produced, Norwood. The last five digits are a sequence number so this is the 11,368th Camaro made for 1979. Body Build Date 10A "10" denotes the month, and "A" denotes the week, meaning the body build date of this camaro is the first week of October. Engine Code V0929 "V" means the engine was build in the Flint, MI plant. The "09" is the ninth month of year and the "29" is the twenty ninth day of the month meaning the engine was assembled on September 29th, 1979. This is correct as it precedes the build date of the car. Suffix Code DRF This means the motor was intended for a 1979 Z28 with a manual transmission, which is correct for this car.
