The fourth- generation model was manufactured from 1961-1969. In 1961 Lincoln put all its eggs in one basket with the new Continental model due to steep financial losses. Sold as only four-door and convertible models. The rear-hinged (suicide doors) became the most iconic feature with a door ajar light on mounted on the dash. In 1964 the wheel- base was extended three inches and the rear roofline was squared off to increase rear seat room.
