Vehicle description
Thank you for your interest in my listing!
Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon T2 1973
Special Edition Wild Westerner, made in 1973.
This bus was built especially for the Spokane WA World Fair in 1974.
There were a limited number made with this color combination.
The hard top was added later by a previous owner. (I think) I can stand up in it (I"m 5"8")
Has two front seats but no back seats. (foldout bed / futon style seat frame, like new, included)
This is a PROJECT bus to make it your own, for camping or living in fun!
It does not run currently but does have an engine.
It has a new battery in it (just needs a charge as the bus has been sitting) and has a new fuel hose. There are some leaks around the side windows in the hard top but fixable.
There are electrical issues but I think it"s just that the lines are not properly run back and hooked up to the battery.
Odometer is in good condition (possibly replaced) but not working, again, possibly just not hooked up. Lights and blinkers work. Project with lots of things to fix, definitely for someone wanting to give this cool bus another chance at a fun new life. Windows are good, no cracks.
No heat (no ducts installed from engine forward to have heat from engine)
Needs a dual carb put on it (mechanic recommendation) and an engine tune up and it should run again.
It was running when I bought it two years ago and I took a couple of hiking trips with it, driving it for several hours.
Have not driven it for a while due to these times we"re in and winter, etc. Needs to be towed away.
Has rust around wheel wells and bottom edges. Inside drivers side pan and spots inside. It"s been patched on the outside areas with bondo or duct tape. (previous owner)
Otherwise surface rust. Some dents but nothing that can"t be fixed.
Comes with a foldable futon style bus seat/foldout bed (no cushions, just frame and fold out mechanism)
I am happy to include it with the sale ($350 value). It hasn"t been installed yet but it"s in good condition and I have all the parts for it.
Bus is sold AS IS and I will not fix or clean anything on it prior to sale. No warranty and sold with all it"s faults. Please ask me more questions prior to bidding.
It is buyer"s responsibility to arrange shipping or pickup from Portland, OR. Has salvage title from Oregon. Not sure of history except that the sliding door was possibly replaced at some point so maybe it has something to do with that.
A non-refundable $500 deposit into PayPal would need to be made within 24 hours if you are the winner of the sale.
If you have negative feedback or no feedback at all I reserve the right to withdraw my sale to you. If you have a good reason for not having any feedback on your account, please message me and I"ll consider your bid on a case by case basis.
Thank you for your interest!
