Vehicle description
1978 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic. Started project car. As you can see this VW convertible Beetle has an extremely straight body. Body removed from suspension. The suspension is there with the engine attached to it. The mand said the engine was in good condition and running when the project started. The fly wheel turns easily with a wrench. Also the body isn"t full of dents and bondo . Rusted floor pans are cut out. Has new floor pans although they got some surface rust because they sat outside. Car was being prepared for complete restoration. There is a small dent and 2 creases on the left rear fender.
If there was any rusted out body parts the body man who by the way was an expert at restoring VW"s and Porches , his profession for 50 years, would have cut the rust out. So on the bottom of the car walls it"s not all rusted through although there is a lot of surface rust. Engine and transmission were in good running condition when project was started 3 years ago and then project was abandoned due to owners health . Everything sat outside . The new floor pans that come with it have some surface rust on them. The Door bottoms have surface rust but are not rusted through. There is surface rust on the rim of the car where the convertible top mounts , and in the area where the back seat back rest would be. Also inside the doors has some and like I mentioned the bottom of the doors. There is surface rust inside in places and out also . But like I stated none of this is totally eaten through or even rusted thin by the rust and is still structurally strong . Can"t find the gas tank . Under the front hood is really in great condition with no rust. Front windshield is missing. The parts were in a box left outside and don"t look great. The box of some engine cowling and some other parts are laid out on cardboard and pictures taken, I hope the pictures help you figure it out. Window glass for the doors is out of the car and I put them inside. . The top frame bows were stored inside (needs new top) and new wood bow piece. Otherwise it is all intact. and not bent. .The dash is all cracked and crumby. The 2 metal bumpers (kind of rusty) are there (one with the original license plate attached ). The original car seats (front and back) were stored inside and need complete restoration also. Buyer needs to send flat bed truck with a forklift to load it to transport it. I have the title , signed off and legal . It was last registered in 1998 , 23 years ago , so it"s been off the DMV computer for well over 7 years. $500. Down payment due when sold and the remainder in cash on pick-up. I see some men want to chat on the e-bay app but I don"t even know how do do that , I don"t know if I can tell you anymore then I "ve written in this ad. I"m just the mans girl friend. He left things to. You can e-mail me here and I can try to answer your questions.
Make me an offer ( you might be surprised ) I"m not going to list this over and over as it costs $95. each time. And I realize you have to transport it. $300. down (non-refundable) due upon end of sale and the balance due upon pick-up.
