he 928 represents a major turning point in Porsche ’ s history. Identified as the first Porsche to have been designed in-house from a clean slate (both the 911 and 356 models were based on previous designs) he 928 boasts a liquid-cooled front-mounted V8 engine; characteristics new to Porsche when first introduced in 1978 Venice Blue Metallic with Marine Blue Interior The 928 is no ordinary V8-powered GT, and featured many ground breaking technical innovations for its time. An aluminium block kept the engine weight down, while the “ Weissach ” axle design provides passive rear-steering under heavy braking and cornering. Many 928 owners have expressed surprise, at how such a large GT can handle so well. In addition, the 928 was Porsche ’ s most luxurious and highly optioned car at the time clearly separating it from the 911 as a long-distance touring car with comfort high on the priority list. The a ll aluminum body was a first in this generation GT cars. By 1988, the 928 had increased its engine displacement to 5-liters, boasting 300bhp. Also, some styling changes have been made that had cleaned up its design compared to previous models, and enhanced i ts sporty GT nature.
