Vehicle Details 1991 VW Bus - Vanagon Westfalia. This is my truly reliable, cross country friend seeking a new home. First the good. This vehicle was partially restored and modifications made in 2017 by TDI Motors in California. The restoration and modifications are as follows. Upgraded, larger wheel rims at 17" for greater ground clearance. I believe the originals were 14". Black powder-coating along all lower panels, front grill and bumpers. Brand new tent canopy for upper bed. Brand new attached awning. Carpeting was removed and custom fitted rubber flooring installed. Yakima Roof Racks installed. New front and rear speakers and CD/Radio Stereo. A steel support was welded to the frame in the rear to support a trailer hitch. Solar power station was added to provide trickle charging to the auxiliary battery system. In addition to this, all the mechanicals and electrical systems were maintained. The propane stove, water distribution and refrigerator were all operational on my last journey in the fall of 2020. This is a list of the current deficiencies, which are quite few. Yes, the 1986-1991 Westfalias had a two sensor oil warning system, and this audible buzzer does go off on occasion. There are no oil leaks and no other indication of low oil pressure, it is just a bizarre feature which leads you to be believe there is a problem where no actual problem exists. This can be remedied by disabling the audible alarm. ( bending a pin back just behind the speedometer ) There are some very helpful youtube videos which take you step-by-step to bypass this audible alarm. The 2nd thing worth noting is that the horn just stopped working. Probably nothing more than a wire, but worth mentioning just the same. Lastly, there are two small areas where the paint is bubbling, please refer to these photos. All in all a very solid survivor, yet with upgrades added to prolong it's life. Please note that this vehicle is also being offered locally in the Tampa Bay area, so this listing is subject to cancellation prior to auction end. Please note that this vehicle currently has clear Wisconsin title, which is easily transferred.
