Vehicle description
Nice driver quality "restored" TR3. I have a book full of receipts documenting all the work that has been done that runs in the $1000"s. Most of the work was completed by me but, was done professionally on things I was not comfortable doing myself i.e., front suspension overhaul and final paint. I am not a professional but have years of experience owning, repairing and maintaining british sports cars as a hobby. Every mechanical system was gone through completely including: clutch replaced with new slave and master cylinder, brake caliper rebuilt and new wheel cylinders and master cylinder. Cooling system includes new water pump and new aluminum radiator. .stays at 185 degrees in city traffic on a 95 degree day. Fuel system includes rebuilt carbs and new fuel pump. It has a high torque starter. It is still positive ground and has an original generator. Body is all original sheet metal including floors and trunk floor. The floors had pitting but are solid and no rust through and ARE ORIGINAL. Body panels were very good, original, rust free panels and frame is good. No signs of any significant collision damage beyond minor fender bender type damage. Body work is driver quality with professional final painting. Interior has some new and some original parts. all were dyed blue to closely match the brand new foam/vinyl seats, for a nice clean interior. Car runs very good and drives like a correct vintage car. I drive it periodically. It has a brand new convertible top, just installed and a brand new battery. The heater is in the car but has been disconnect. I have the parts to reconnect if someone wanted to do that. I just don"t get it out in the kind of weather that requires a heater. All gauges work and the original temperature gauge was recently rebuilt by Nisonger Instruments. The speedo works but not the odometer. The engine block is a larger displacement TR4 block which was required due to a cracked block. I bought the block from a fellow enthusiast. He and I believed it had been rebuilt recently from appearances, but no documentation to verify that. I installed the block with all the original TR3 parts and replaced the down draft breather, so in looks stock TR3 except for not being a matching number. Most of the restoration on this car was done in 2011-12 and has been properly maintained since to keep it in good running driving condition. It is garage kept and paint still shines like new. I go to one large car show each year ( not as an entrant, but to get preferred parking) The car gets great reviews from spectators and enthusiast. All that said: it is a 65 year old car and comes with no warranty expressed or emplied and is sold "as-is". All work was performed to a level to make it a nice looking, mechanically dependable weekend driver. .not in any way a nut and bolt restoration, trailer queen. It is meant to be driven and enjoyed. If you have questions please message me, OR better still call me at 859-684-2427, because there is no substitute for a person to person communication. I have included several photos to reflect the quality of the car, but if you have specific request I will try hard to provide additional photos. If you wish to inspect yourself or have someone inspect for you, I will accommodate that by appointment.
