Over the past several years we’ve had the pleasure, and challenge, of repairing and reconditioning scores of Discovery’s, most of which we modified significantly, but this truck is the one effort we are most proud of! In every aspect, we have carefully applied the best parts and processes we know of to produce a very unique vehicle, with nothing overlooked. From the fully remanufactured, blueprinted and top-hat liner engine to the stunning array of high tech lighting to the dramatically upgraded suspension, we went looking for ways to improve what we feel is the best all-around off-reader on the market today, price be damned. Please examine all these phots carefully, take a few minutes to go to YouTube and watch our brief videos, and then feel free to call use, Jay, at with any questions you may have. I have personally driven the truck over 1000 miles since completion of the work so I know it intimately. In brief here’s a summary of what went into the build: the stock engine was stripped to its core element, chemically cleaned, and pressure tested. Then a 5-axis CNC machine went to work center boring the crankshaft journals and parallel decking the head surfaces to blueprint the block to original specifications, erasing years of abuse and neglect. New Turner Engineering flanged liners (aka Top Hat liners) were installed and the block was treated with a sodium silicate solution to seal it internally. New internals were installed including the front cover oil pump, all wear items, seals and bearings, polished crankshaft, camshaft and lifters, rocker shafts, and timing chain/gears. Newly reconditioned cylinder heads were torqued down with ARP chromoly studs. In the truck, the engine is supported by a complete new ignition and cooling system. (FYI, the engine work was $6500, auxiliary items about $750, and labor $2200). The chassis and suspension were updated with Terrafirma components: 3” HD lift kit with TF spring mount, TF tie rod, steering rod, camber correcting radius arms, steering damper, front and rear differential guards. New sway bar links and polyurethane bushings were installed along with Stainless Steel extended brake lines and Akebono pads on new rotors. The rear chassis was reinforced with the brilliant Rovers North ProLine chassis kit. Moving up and back to the front, a Lucky8 Bull Bar bumper was installed along with a 10k wireless Smittybilt winch with safe synthetic rope. New gen multi-element driving lights were mounted; these include distinctive daytime running lights as well as 80 watt high intensity spots. The hood features a Crawlarado 3-M hood decal and English made SS limb riser wires. A Rimmer Bro’s snorkel is mounted and sealed all the way down to the air box. Up top a premium Voyager Overlander roof rack is mounted and includes another 4 driving lights as well as twin LED “camping” lights at the rear. All lights are wired directly to the battery for convenient operation anytime. A high-lift Jack, clearing axe, and awesome Crazy Beaver shovel sit on the rack. TerraFirma rock grinders with tree bars are mounted in between 16” TF steel NATO-style wheels wrapped with 33” KO2s. 30mm TF spacers are at each wheel creating a super wide track (+10”s) and necessitating TF wide fender flares. At the rear, a TF steel bumper sports our signature bottle opener and red shackles with silencing rubbers. Original style OEM metal taillight guards compliment the Voyager “big tube” ladder. A fifth KO2 is mounted at the rear with a Rover Bones raised mount and security cable. The body, in original Bonatti Grey paint is in very good condition with only very minor scratches or dings. The roof has been recovered in Raptor urethane coating for protection and the windows have all be darkened. Inside the original Black leather interior is in great condition complimented by matching French-stitched lever covers and a lifetime guaranteed black headliner. A Ultraguage OBDII reader helps you keep tabs on the vitals. All the vulnerable body plastic is excellent and new wipers and two keys are included. Clean GA title in hand.
