Vehicle description
2001 Jeep Wrangler Sport w/ turbocharged 4.0l engine
Finished in Silvestone Metallic with Agate interior. Less than 71,000 miles!
This awesome Wrangler has been in the family since new. It has been professionally set up for safe, reliable, overlanding to remote places and it has been meticulously maintained. I have all maintenence records, original owners manual, and accessory product manuals. The oil has been changed every 5000 miles since new with Mobil 1 synthetic. It has never been wrecked or painted. See a short video about this Jeep here: https:/ youtu.be/QlW1vziFccU
It is widely believed that the Wrangler TJ was the best Jeep ever made. They are modern enough to have airbags and anti lock brakes. They drive well on and off road (much better than previous models) yet they are also just old enough to still be quite simple and easy to maintain.
This unique Wrangler features a Banks Sidewinder turbocharger. This significantly increases horsepower, lowers the torque curve, and allows the engine to produce full power at high altitudes. Specs can be found here: https:/ www.fourwheeler.com/how-to/1308-banks-4-0l-sidewinder-turbo-system/?iframe=true&width=660&height=100%
This rust free southern vehicle runs & drives great. I recently completed the 70k mile service (Jan 2021). We have had tons of fun exploring the USA in this Jeep for many years but unfortunately just don"t have time anymore. I wouldn"t think twice about driving this Jeep across the country tomorrow.
Factory equipment:
5 speed manual transmission NP 231 transfer case 4 wheel anti lock brakes Air bags Air conditioning Dana 44 rear axle Overhead soundbar Very desirable half doors rear security compartment Halogen fog/driving lights (4) Original owners manual & literature
Other equipment & accessories:
Complete Rancho 4" suspension lift with front sway bar disconnects Drive shaft slip yoke eliminator Top quality USA MADE Aluminum 16" Centerline wheels with matching spare 33" BF Goodrich All Terrain TA K/O2 tires Rampage Frameless soft top with tinted windows Tuffy overhead locking console Sony stereo/CD player with XM radio, bluetooth, amplifier Console mounted subwoofer Infinity speakers USA MADE Milemarker Hydraulic winch with synthetic rope and wireless remote control Stainless steel exhaust Hella 65w headlights Rearview mirror with compass, temperature, and Homelink door opener controls Alarm system with two remote controls Top quality Catch-All floor mats Dome light bypass Very high quality USA MADE accessories by Garvin Industries: front & rear bumpers spare tire carrier with axe & shovel mounts, high lift jack mount and dual Jerry can mounts roof rack 2" receiver hitches front and rear Rock rails / step bars documentation for the Banks turbocharger system Original parts removed during turbo install (in case someone wants to remove it) Banks OBD II scanner/programmer tool
Quirks & issues: Mechanically the Jeep is sound with no known problems
There is one quirk that occurred when the turbocharger system was installed. The cruise control doesn"t seem to understand that the engine has boost available. So if driving with the cruise control on and going up a hill, the cruise control will increase throttle only as far as it would with the stock engine. This has not been a problem for me since I rarely drive at high speed or use cruise control.
Banks highly recommends that only premium fuel is used
There is no rust through, only typical surface rust on the frame, skid plates, etc. There are minor chips in the paint on the grill, rockers as you would expect. There is also some sun damage to the paint on top of the cowl just ahead of the windshield.
There is a single rock chip on the lower part of the windshield. It hasn"t grown in the 5 years since it happened.
What’s Included : Buyer will get the Jeep as pictured and described above. I will also include the original parts which were removed during the turbo install and some spare parts. There are a few items pictured that are not included in the Sale and will be removed before delivery: the awning mounted to the roof rack, the high lift jack, axe, and shovel
