Vehicle description

This is the 2nd Indycar that I have transformed into using a Chevrolet engine. My first one, a 96 Reynard, I used a V-6 and ran it strictly on the track. This was my "Dream build" with the goal of registering it for the street. It has a used, low mileage LS1 using the FI tech injection system. It took about 12 months to get it to fit with only lengthening the wheelbase 3/4 of an inch! There are adaptor plates front and rear with top billet stress members and a steel skid plate along the bottom that ties the two plates together hence creating the "Frame" that is needed. Freshly rebuilt Transaxle is the Reynard 7 speed sequential (and reverse) with one of the only 6 made tallest gearsets in it. Its a self starter. Aim steering wheel buttons controls the directional and horn. Speedometer and tach in the wheel also. I have fenders for it but use them only when needed. Dry sump system, Odyssey Battery. It took us 2.5 years to build this. I got it not only registered but titled but my biggest problem is that at 65 years old, 240 lbs.,6 feet in height, and having had 2 back surgeries, I cannot fit comfortably in it enough to feel comfortable on the street .By the time I get down into it low enough for my shoulders to get into the "mushroom" area below the top edge of the drivers compartment. .my knees are up into the dash. BTW, I got this car painted at Andretti Autosports. Roberto Moreno was the driver of this car and even though I got this car in road course configuration, though it is likely the car he won the Vancouver Grand Prix in, there is no way that I have been able to confirm this. There"s probably a lot that I can"t think of off the top of my head also. If you want want the sickest street car there is, you"ve found it. Car is a 2000 and titled as a 2000 but ebay will not recognize a non 17 digit vin number after 1981.
This is the last time I am going to offer this for sale for possible street use. I will be returning it back to an "open track" car. I"ll be removing the headlights, directionals and the street tires and placing new Avon slicks on it. This is where the car really belongs anyways. I"ve always stated that the 5 times I ran my first Indycar on the racetrack were the 5 greatest days of my life.
