Vehicle description
Offered for sale is this stunning 2005 SL55 AMG with only 49,000 miles. I am only selling because I have another car I daily drive year-round and the Mercedes has been sitting for far too long. This listing will detail all of the upgrades, maintenance, and also the small imperfections that this car comes along with.
The car was built by Brian Fisher (FisherFast) out of PA and a full walkaround of the car prior to my purchase can be found here: https:/ youtu.be/5-LD0Xodv40. MSRP when new was over $160,000.
You"ll notice the largest visual difference from the video is that I had the roof wrapped satin black. This can be removed upon request.
Now for the details:
A normal stock (2003-2006) SL55 makes 491 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. Because more is always better, this car has a few upgrades. It produces approximately 575 horsepower and a neck-snapping 693 ft-lbs of torque at the flywheel/engine using a 19% correction factor for drivetrain loss. On the dyno it made 494 horsepower and 574 ft-lbs of torque at the rear wheels. It is difficult to explain the time-warp feeling of the power this car has. THIS IS NOT FOR A BEGINNER DRIVER.
A full list of modifications is below.
This particular SL55 comes with a ton of factory options. The seats are heated/cooled along with a massaging feature. It has keyless entry, and push button start. The self-leveling xenon high intensity headlights really light up the road. The entire stereo system has been upgraded to a touchscreen, and is bluetooth enabled. It has front and rear parking sensors. This car does not feel like a 2005.
The exterior has been treated to a full 3-stage paint correction process and it is ceramic coated by CQuartz.
The car has upgraded 20" concave gunmetal wheels that give the car an aggressive stance, and sports a lowered suspension. The carbon fiber SL63 spoiler and clear brake light add a nice touch to the rear. The full carbon fiber lower diffuser on the rear bumper completely transforms the car and is striking.
The outdated wood-trimmed interior has been upgraded with a hydro-dipped carbon fiber pattern and high gloss finish. The same treatment has been performed on the engine cover.
Another favorite feature of the interior is the roof and pillars are ENTIRELY alcantara (suede) and looks very luxurious. Above the gauge cluster is also alcantara and looks fantastic. The leather and build quality inside this car EASILY rivals today"s luxury cars.
*MODIFICATIONS*
- CQuartz ceramic paint coating - 77mm clutched supercharger pulley - Pierburg CWA100 high flow intercooler coolant pump - Supercharger belt wrap kit - Bosch 550cc high flow fuel injectors - Eurocharged custom dyno tuned ECU tune - Eurocharged transmission TCU tune - Split cooling kit (separates engine and intercooler/supercharger cooling circuits) - Custom exhaust with x-pipe (sounds AMAZING) - Hydro-dipped faux carbon fiber engine covers - Hydro-dipped faux carbon fiber interior trim - Upgraded Osram HID/Xenon headlights (same as in the new S-Class) - Updated SL63 style front grill - Large additional front mount heat exchanger - Stock air intake inlets enlarged - 20x9 Niche gunmetal wheels with 255/30/20 Hankook Ventus V2 tires (FRONT) - 20x10.5 Niche gunmetal wheels with 305/25/20 tires (REAR) - Suspension lowering links - Clear turn signal markers - Satin black vinyl roof wrap
*MAINTENANCE*
- ABC (hydraulic suspension and steering pump) just replaced about 200 miles ago ($2,000+) - New front and rear brakes (Brembo rotors and Porterfield R4S racing brake pads). - Engine mounts replaced - New auxiliary power battery installed - Fuel filter changed - Throttle body cleaned - Rear axle/differential fluid changed - Transmission fluid and filter changed - Transmission mount changed - Engine coolant flushed and filled - Brake fluid flushed and filled - Engine valve cover gaskets replaced - Front lower ball joints replaced - Tie rod end links replaced - Supercharger belt changed - Accessory serpentine belt changed - High flow Green Performance engine air filters installed - Cabin air filters changed - Bosch wiper blades installed - Spark plugs changed - New coils installed - Trunk struts replaced
*IMPERFECTIONS (PICTURED IN GALLERY)*
- Left front wheel is visibly bent. The tire holds air fine and there is no wobble, but you can see it visually. - Driver"s seat is scratched from a pair of pants I wore that had a zipper on the pocket. - Left front part of carbon fiber lip has a fracture in it. - Two tiny scratches present above fuel door. - "Sport/Comfort) suspension selection button visibly worn. - Backup sensor in rear bumper is pushed in and needs to be pulled out.
I have owned many cars in my life and this has been at the top of the favorites list. The car is incredible to drive (Especially with the top down in the summer), gets a TON of attention, and is the perfect weekend cruiser, or even daily driver for the right climate.
The car is located in Windham, NH (03087). It has mostly been sitting since April of 2020 aside from a few drives here and there to keep it moving. The smaller auxiliary battery (this car has two batteries) needs frequent driving in order to stay charged so it will tell you "convenience functions are unavailable" if it sits too long. This is normal for the SL55 and all functions will turn on once the battery charges. The starter (larger) battery is new.
Shipping is available * at the buyer"s expense* .
Please email me anytime here or James at JamesMSama dot com for further information or photo requests (I could only upload 24 here).
I look forward to this car joining a loving home where it can be thoroughly enjoyed and cared for as any AMG machine should be.
Please reach out with any further questions.
