Vehicle description
Details about this 1966 Chevrolet Corvette This is a show-quality, numbers-matching 1966 Corvette Stingray 427/425 Coupe finished in Trophy Blue. The car’s owner for the past 15 years passed away early this year. The car is still in its Georgia home and is being offered for sale by the family. This classic vintage automobile is in outstanding show quality condition according to two licensed appraisers in 2006 and 2021. The body, interior, engine, drive train, and undercarriage have been restored to “like-new” condition, as have all other mechanical and electrical systems in the vehicle. The fiberglass body and Trophy Blue finish are in excellent condition as are the tinted glass windows. The hood is the correct 427/425 cowl hood with chrome grille inserts on the sides. The overall condition of the engine and drive train is outstanding show quality according to the appraisers. The engine is a period-correct “matching numbers” 427 cubic inch Chevrolet Corvette V-8 Turbo Jet engine with 425 factory rated horsepower (block ID #sT1216IP / 6110679). The entire engine has been super-detailed to “show standard.” The transmission is a Muncie M-21 4-speed manual with a Hurst shifter unit, coupled to a newly balanced drive shaft and a ‘4-in-the-floor” posi-traction rear end with 4.11:1 gear ratio. Original exhaust manifolds feed the dual exhaust system into period-correct Corvette factory-type chromed side pipes with stainless steel muffler baffles in new condition. All other mechanical and electrical systems are either completely new, or have been professionally rebuilt, restored, or upgraded to like-new condition. The car is equipped with special front and rear suspension, Vintage Air AC system, new Bosch battery, new power steering and power disc brakes, as well as power windows and power antenna. The sound system is the original push-button AM/FM radio. The vehicle’s interior, trimmed in dark blue leather, is believed to be in outstanding show quality condition. It has the teakwood telescopic steering wheel and correct factory-equipped 4-speed console. Wheels are original special cast aluminum 15-inch Corvette knockoffs with Spinners, mounted on UniRoyal “Tiger Paw” tires with pinstripe whitewalls in like-new condition. Copies of the original General Motors factory sales invoice and a detailed list of engine modifications, as well as copies of two appraisals, are available for interested buyers to see. This immaculately kept Corvette should be at the top of anyone’s list of show-quality vintage vehicles. See it while it is still at home with its family in Georgia.
