Vehicle description
Selling our faithful 560SL. We bought it eight years ago from the Southwest, after looking at several northeastern cars and always finding rust hidden in out of the way spots on the underside. When this car arrived we were satisfied that it was truly clean in that regard. We did some mechanical work and upgrades (front end work, brakes, suspension, valve job, done at Foreign Auto Center in Cambridge, MA) plus a new roof. We have the hard top and are including it. Since our move to Cape Cod, the car has been under the care of Paul at Falmouth Motorcar. The car runs, shifts, handles and brakes as it should.
Three years ago we moved to Cape Cod to take over the ownership of a large bed and breakfast, and haven"t really had the time to drive our 560 as much as it should be driven ( under 1000 miles per year). Rather than to let it sit in the garage, it"s time for it to go to an owner who will really enjoy it. Things that were still on our list of things to do were new paint (the previous owner had it resprayed and we are not fans) and replacement of the passenger seat back (the present seat back has a small hole in the leather, and we found the correct M-B backrest which we will include.) The dash has cracks typical of SL"s of this vintage especially those from hot southwestern states. The car is not a museum piece but a sturdy driver that has given us great pleasure over the years. Photos are an integral part of the description of this car. Personal inspections are highly encouraged, since all sales are final and the car is sold in as is condition. Bidding on the car is an acknowledgment of, and agreement to those terms. Shipping/pickup is the responsibility of the buyer
