This now high performance 383ci stroker capable of a consigner stated 465 horses, and now completely redone with some MHT U-110 Rambler Big Wheels and low-profile rubber we now have a pro street savvy convertible draped with a leather interior. Read on and you too will be impressed! Exterior
Burgundy paint about 2 miles deep covers all the straight rust-free exterior slabs which mind their gaps like a precision marching band. We will throw on a tan stripe which wraps around the hidden headlight grille, and the tan cloth convertible top and folks we definitely have a looker, and a cooker. This top has a nice clear plastic window. The SS grille is straight horizontal lines in chromed glory and includes 2 hidden headlight covers off the same pattern and an SS badge in the center. A large rear facing (cowl induction) hood scoop is now on top of the new hood, and the burgundy is just miles deep everywhere you look. A thin trim line of chrome is seen running around the wheel wells, along the rocker and the bottom, and just a bit of bling along with the MHT U-110 Rambler big wheels nicely polished in 17 inch upfront and 18 inch on the rear. Speaking of the rear, a beautiful small spoiler now adorns the trunk lid, and frames the horizontal brake light setup, again with nice bezels and a pristine rear bumper looking like it was just dipped in chrome. Interior
The passenger compartment utilizes plenty of pure tan leather. On the door panels we note triangular tufted stitched pattern surrounded by clean smooth leather, all tan, and all buttoned up looking just great. Billet style aluminum cranks and handles now are on these door panels. In the passenger compartment, are tufted triangular pattern inserted into inner panels surrounded by leather smooth bolsters. These seats are now power and are looking good and like new. The rear bench matches and is also pristine in the same pattern. The console, also wrapped in tan with wood appliqu houses a futuristic airliner throttle styled shifter, and all is very clean. Carpets are clean and also tan, and above is the original style dash now with tan covering and instrument deep gauges. Gauges are newer style, and have some digital readouts, as well as analog pointers. The center of the dash also in wood appliqu, is housing the radio, and temperature and fan sliders. Drivetrain
A new 383ci crate engine now adorns the restored engine bay and is just beautiful inside under the hood. An orange block, orange valve covers, and an orange air cleaner cover are seen along with shiny headers, Blue Print Aluminum heads, and Comp roller rockers. This engine sports a Lunati Flat Hydraulic Tappet cam with .557i and .554e lifts. Below the orange air cleaner is a polished Edelbrock intake manifold, and its fed by a single 4-barrel Holley carb also polished. A TH350 3-speed automatic transmission is out on the back and at 12-bolt rear axle makes the tires smoke. Just a great presentation with the orange and polished chrome working with supple shiny hoses and wires. Undercarriage
Showroom would be the word for the undercarriage with not a speck of dirt seen, all shiny black paint and structural framing, floor pans and wheel wells and rockers. An H pipe exhaust is now seen snaking its way underneath to the rear off the car, and it possesses stellar condition independent front suspension, with tubular control arms, and leaf spring rear suspension. Wilwood disc brakes are now on all 4 corners and new shocks are noted underneath as well as many new parts in this restoration. Drive-Ability
A quick starter with a great roar, and some awesome power. It handles great with the suspension and tubular control arms, and it a nice riding cruiser, but is really meant as a street bruiser. It has the kick to prove it, and its bite is definitely worse than its bark. If you are in the market for an awesome 1968 version of the SS Camaro, then look no further, as it is awesome, all buttoned up, and ready to kick some street ass. Just beautifully done, and a convertible to boot. A must see to really appreciate. A great resto-mod, and all-around modern version of this 1968 GM car. Completely documented and plenty of receipts this is the real deal when it comes to a redux. 123678N466195
