Why am I selling?
I usually don"t keep cars long, 2 years was my previous record. With this car, I"m going on 3-4 years so it"s time for a change. I was thinking of trying a 991, but I also have a "68 vette that I"ve been doing a resto on, so that may hold me off. We"ll just have to see!
What mods does the car have?
H&R springs w/ PASM and DSC Controller
Do88 pipes
GT2 intercoolers
3" Speedtech exhaust w/ cats
Carbon fiber cold air intakes (I know, I know. )
Tune
Upgraded radio/backup cam
2 sets of rims: Carrera sport w/ summer tires/wheel spacers and 19" Forgestar F14 w/ snow tires
I still have the original intakes, PASM computer, intercoolers, radio., etc. However, I no longer have the stock exhaust.
How"s it run?
I"ve owned the car for 3-4 years and the only repairs I"ve done have been the starter and the water pump. I did the starter maybe a month or 2 after I got the car and the water pump I think was in 2020 sometime. I heard the bearing starting to go and then saw a drop of coolant under the car, so I went and got ahead of it before anything catastrophic happened. Besides that, the car has never let me down. I"ve replaced the oil once a year with Mobil 1 and made sure there were no metallic flakes in the filter or any other abnormalities. Now that I"m typing this, I remembered last year I also replaced one of the coolant hoses because the rubber o-ring was letting a small amount of coolant drip past, and I also replaced the coolant temp sensor.
A few years back, when I was installing the springs, I replaced the inner/outer tie rods and also put hawk brake pads up front. The car was aligned afterwards. I have all of the paperwork for all of the items/maintenance purchased for the car (the previous owner(s) kept quite the portfolio!)
So in general, there are no real issues with how the car runs. I drive it maybe 3 or 4000 miles a year, usually from April-Nov. During those months it"s pretty much a daily driver and has been reliable every day!
Ok, so what"s bad about the car?
This is definitely a driver quality car, paint wise. I wish the previous/original owner would have done a clear bra or something, but they didn"t. The car has the usual/notorious "road rash" in the common spots. It"s noticeable from ~3-4ft and closer. Problem areas are the front bumper and some of the hood, and in front of the rear wheel on the lower portion of the panels. I"ve tried to go over some of the spots with touch up paint or Dr Color Chip, but I have a buddy that does body work and I was eventually just going to have him respray whatever areas he thought had issues and the put a bra over it. A car driven this much with no protection would eventually need one anyway.
In colder weather the spoiler has random times when it doesn"t fully come up on the pass side. It sags like half an inch. Once the car warms up, it works normally, or if it"s just a nice day out it works fine too. To solve this, I either keep it up at all times (press the button when I 1st get in the car) or I was going to buy that kit that locks the spoiler in the up position all the time. Its a kit on for like $180 I believe.
The illuminated "turbo" kickplate on the pass side doesn"t really light anymore. I never looked into it since I never see it haha. Just figured I"d mention that!
I was going to powdercoat the rims (both sets) just because I"m a stickler. The winter set has some hardened brake dust and a few marks here and the and the Carrera rims could just use some touching up. I even thought about just hitting either with some plastidip but didn"t want to go the cheap route.
When I did the front brakes I didn"t install those sticky pads that go behind the pads (forum members said we don"t need them!) So now the drivers side pad makes a clunk at random times. I checked it out and it has like a 1/16 inch of wiggle room, so when the brakes aren"t applied, the pad makes noise. Those sticky pads are available on amazon for relatively cheap. Planned on fixing that this year along with the paint (and I guess the kickplate too!) if I kept the car.
So that"s it really. I cant think of much else. I got the car with the intent to drive it, so I didn"t want to buy a car with 20,000 miles and ruin the "low mile" aspect of those cars. I wasn"t necessarily worried about the paint at the time, it still looks great! I"ll still take the car to car shows and get compliments all the time, people still stop me on the street. . It sounds great, is ridiculously fast, and I"ll probably regret selling it haha.
I"m open to feedback and offers. Highball me, lowball me, whatever haha. If anyone would like more pictures or has any additional questions, I"m an open book. I appreciate anyone that read all of my rambling!
