Vehicle description

*Please read the whole description before bidding* I have for sale a 2010 Subaru Forester Sport+ in charcoal gray. This car is pretty clean for it’s age. There are some normal signs of wear and tear on the interior, and small scratches and dings here and there. Nothing through the paint. This Forester has NO rust! Very clean underneath as well. 154,xxx on the odometer, it starts, runs, drives, and stops as it should. Has a panoramic sunroof so your passengers can enjoy the cruise too! Legendary Subaru safety and AWD makes this a great first car for New England. Powered by the ubiquitous Subaru 2.5l 4-cylinder engine, and automatic transmission.
There is a not so good side to this car. I’m going to disclose everything I can as accurately as I can. This car is not a perfect runner as is, but a Subaru fan could make it one easily. I don’t have the mechanical chops to take on the job. So, the not so good side is that this Forester has a reconstructed *not salvage* title. It was lightly rear-ended and repaired very well. (See photo of rear floor pan) Everything is straight and functions as it should. It also burns oil, approximately a quart every 600 miles. To the best of my knowledge, the problem is worn out exhaust valve seats, but I DO NOT know that for sure. It throws an intake valve position code and a misfire code from time to time. Check engine light is currently not on, but it will come back. I was told by a shady dealer that all the ‘Subaru’ things had been done when the body damage was repaired, to include head gaskets, valve cover gaskets, and timing belt, but again, I don’t know that for sure. It smokes a little on startup and when idling, but not enough to notice when driving.
The Good:
Starts right up every time Cold AC Subaru AWD GIANT sunroof (no leaks) No rust Lots of 12v outlets Clean interior Lots of cargo space Roof rails Currently registered and MA inspected
The Bad
Reconstructed title Burns a significant amount of oil, not 100% sure why Normal amount of scratches and dings on a 10yo car
This Forester is a great opportunity for somebody who has the wrench time to put into it. It’s a really good little SUV, aside from having an aging EJ25 in it. I’m happy to answer any questions that I can. Reserve is low, I don’t have space or time for it, unfortunately. The car will be listed locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early if it sells. Buyer must pick up or arrange transport. Thanks for looking!
