Sears Rascal Manx type dune buggy residing on a shortened 1960 VW beetle pan/chassis with current Colorado title in my name.
Primer black exterior (by previous owner), red tub interior, aftermarket black cloth seats front and rear. Fiberglass body is in good shape!
Vehicle is complete and drove around the neighborhood Monday before parking my garage where I transplanted the engine back in to another dune buggy for the winter. Recommend 1600cc or 1835cc engine for this setup.
Transmission is VW Bug swing axle style with stock gearing and bus hub-reduction boxes for increased clearance.
Electrical system has been completely upgraded with modern wiring and complete VDO instrumentation; per my OCD everything in the engine bay is labeled appropriately and could be up and running with a replacement engine with minimal effort.
Electric Fuel pump installed at front near fuel tank.
Aluminum wheels and new tires are five bolt style and show almost zero wear.
Buggy seats four passengers with belts, however let"s not kid ourselves if you"re taller than 6 feet you"re going to want to reconfigure the driver"s seat at the expense of the second row passenger.
