Vehicle description

Vehicle Details * *BIG IMPORTANT NOTE* *:- In California, if the check engine light is on, the computer programs at the smog station will automatically fail the smog test. If the vehicle fails the smog test, the vehicle’s title cannot be transferred to a new owner and the vehicle cannot be registered.BUYER WOULD NEED TO SIGN RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND HOLD HARMLESS LETTER FROM SELLER.BUYER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYING MECHANIC TO FIND RESOLVE AIR LEAK IN ENGINE CAUSING THE "LEAN" ENGINE CODE WITHIN 30 DAYS OF SALE FOR PROPER TITLE TRANSFER.* *READ ENTIRE POSTING BEFORE CONTACTING* *Ongoing Issues:- volume on sound is operable from the steering wheel controls (volume dial on radio doesnt work)- side of car and back of bumper has a couple small dings that should be able to be taken out from a dentless mobile repair service for about $500.- airbag light is on- lamp light is on- check engine light is on: the VW specialist mechanic in December shared the only reason why there is a check engine light on is because the computer codes relate to the MAP sensor and that its running “lean” which the mechanic said means that there is an air leak somewhere within the engine that he needs to investigate. He said other than that the car is perfectly fine and runs well.- VW specialist mechanic in December urged very very strongly to get the transmission oil changed.- small and very very slow oil leak2011 Volkswagen Jetta SE (Salvaged title)I originally bought it as “used” from the VW dealer in 2014 when they sold it with 44,000 miles on it.VIN: 3VWDZ7AJ9BM328053Car is located in Orange County, CAFeatures:- tan interior- leather seats- heated seats- moon roof / sun roof- touch screen stereo- CD player-bluetooth compatible for playing songs off phoneIt runs great. Still has some good acceleration.Body:It had a minor front end bumper collision that caused radiator damage and some AC damage. the insurance totaled it and gave it a salvaged title. (the airbags were never released) The other collision was a police car hitting it while it was stationry at a stop light. Yes, that is right, the police car hit it while it wasn’t moving and was in a queue of cars at a light. That is why there is a dent in the door – the cop was trying to turn into the queue adjacent to us and swung too wide.Car Idiosyncrasies:-When the gas tank meter is at 1/8 of a tank (or shows 20% full), go get gas immediately, because without notice, it will drop to 0/8 or 0% and suddenly the car is out of gas. I have been stranded several times or had to roll into gas station on fumes…barely making it to the pump.-The audio input on the center console by the gear shift doesn’t work. The side doors make a loud hollow sound when closing because they are aftermarket doors. Most recent work:-I had the AC completely redone in August of 2021 at the VW dealership for $1,700.-I just had it serviced by another VW specialist mechanic in December 2021 who changed the spark plugs, air filter, cabin filter, oil filter, fuel filter, did the oil change with synthetic oil, back brakes, windshield wiper blades, replaced the throttle body, replaced the MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor, and PVC diaphragm.BIG IMPORTANT NOTE:-In California, if the check engine light is on, the computer programs at the smog station will automatically fail the smog test. If the vehicle fails the smog test, the vehicle’s title cannot be transferred to a new owner and the vehicle cannot be registered. -Looking to do either of the 2 options:-Option 1) sale car to a person in a state which has none or minimal smog or other inspection requirements. Can sale through ebaymotors.com autotrader.com and many others….just search for websites to sale cars. Use a shipping company to ship the car to the person. oAlaska, Arkansas, Iowa, Minnesota, Montana, South Carolina, and South Dakota. Michigan, Mississippi. oVIN inspection: Florida, Kansas, Kentucky, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Wyoming. oSome states require annual safety inspections, but only require emissions inspections in certain cities. Those states include Louisiana, Hawaii, West Virginia Maine, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia. Not sure about these: do an emissions test every 2 years: Arizona, Delaware, Connecticut, Idaho, Indiana, Maryland, New Jersey, New Mexico, Ohio, Oregon, Washington, and Wisconsin.odon’t require emissions inspections at all, but do require annual safety inspections.-Option 2) Sell the car online to a company such as driveway.com or cashautosalvage.com or other similar online cash for car websites-Option 3) Trade it in to a dealer to get them to give you an offer when/if buying a new car.-It should be noted that most of these states that have any inspection requirements have their own rules and regulations about what cars need to be inspected and when. Furthermore, many other states let cities and counties decide if they want to require any emissions testing. If you are unsure of your state’s inspection guidelines, you should check with the state’s DMV. Images Download the Motors app
