This is an extremely rough & rusty 1955 Oldsmobile 98 StarfireConvertible. It sat outside in a fieldfor decades. It is a good convertibleparts car, or could be used to convert a 1955 Olds 98 coupe body into aconvertible, or could be restored with great effort. An interchange manualshows 1954–56 Oldsmobile 88/98, and Buick Special/Century used the sameconvertible trim and top frame. I don’t know if these parts are suitable for55-57 Chevy. The outer body is straightand side stainless trim is mostly good. The floor, floor braces, and rockers havenear-completely rusted away. Thetrunk is locked - trunk floor and tire well are also very rusty. There is some rust out in the top of the cowland upper rear quarters. The bottom ofthe doors and base of trunk lid are rusted out. The frame looks pretty solid –it was not setting on the ground. However ,I cannot guarantee the frame condition and suggest you bid entirely how youvalue the convertible parts . Starting Bid $1200 no reserve. The top frame is in pretty good condition and a lot of theframe still has some black paint. Theheader bow is extremely rusty and needs extensive repair. The rear back window bow has heavy surfacerust. All glass is broken. Rear window frames and passenger window framelook plateable. Driver window frame wastwisted off and broken (included). Theconvertible windshield stainless is complete and in pretty good condition (somesmall dings). The front seat is badlyrusted/not useable; rear seat springs are present and suitable as templates; reararm rests are crumbling and rusty but suitable for templates. The VIN tag is present and the data plate shows it wasoriginally paint code 61 (Caspian cream, a pale creamy yellow) with a red/whiteinterior and white top. It is equippedwith a power top, power windows, and power seat. It has a Deluxe radio andpossibly the foot control? (see photos). Motor and trans look complete/untouched;condition unknown . The car now hasreplacement rear wheels and tires that consistently hold air. An extra frontbumper goes with the car. It is missing the following: air cleaner, generator,radiator, drive shaft, convertible top motor, and probably other small parts. Thecar is located in Traverse City Michigan and can be viewed by appointment.
