Vehicle description
This is my third Miata NA (first edition) and it"s in better shape than my last one that had 2/3 the miles.
I picked this up over the summer while working in Seattle and just drove it back to the east coast. It"s rust free and clean. It"s all original and even has the original radio. It runs and drives great. I just drove it across country and would happily do so again.
I bought it from an old woman who"s late husband drove it. From what I can tell, they took very good care of it. In the time that I"ve had it, I"ve changed oil, spark plugs an accessory belt and the battery.
A tree branch fell neat the car and put a small dent (about the size of a quarter) below the mirror on the passenger side door. You can see this in the last picture. The seats are slightly faded but do not have any rips or holes. The radio is the only real problem. It turns on and off on it"s own and needs to be repaired. There"s a guy in Florida who famously works on them and says it can be repaired cheaply. I"ve never gotten around to sending it to him as I never listen to it. The cruise control doesn"t seem to work either. I"ve only tried it a few times but, again, it"s just not something I use in a car like this. It"s likely been repainted but it"s been done well enough that I don"t see any evidence of it. The carpet is in amazingly good condition and it comes with original floor mats that are becoming as rare as the radios are in these cars. There"s some cracks on the center console (tombstone) see pics. These are cheap and easy to replace. I would have done so myself but my knee hits it when I drive and I felt like I"d just crack it again.
The top is visibly showing it"s age but it works well and isn"t in need of immediate replacement. As compared with other aftermarket soft tops, this has the best vinyl window that I"ve experienced. The dimensions make for far better rear viability than the rest.
For whatever it"s worth, being as old as it is, it likely qualifies as an antique in many states. I know that it does in Maine.
I"m sure that the winning bidder will be quite pleased. Good luck
