I will make this as clear as possible. I bought this wagon from an elderly gentleman who had it stored away and was no longer using it. My intention was to get it mechanically sound and use as a road tripping, gas sipping, utilitarian vehicle. Unfortunately plans have changed and I am going to have to let this one go. Prior to this decision I serviced it with the following;
All new brakes at all 4 corners including ROTORS, CALIPERS, PADS. . NOT the cheap stuff
I had the ORIGINAL steering rack rebuilt at a cost of $450 including tie rods
COMPLETE tune up including all oils and fluids
ALL new GATES belts
NEW Water pump
New BFG tires
A few more details on the car;
YES the odometer works
NO, the AC does not work.
YES, those are the original miles
NO, the wagon is not perfect (33 years old)
YES, the car runs through all the gears with a smooth engagement of the clutch and no funny noises
NO, you will not win any races
YES, I have the original title from the original one owner
NO, the car is not rotted out or severely banged up
YES, the wagon has its bumps and bruises
NO, She will not win any beauty pageants, (but with a little TLC she might)
YES, I am a Volvo enthusiast and my primary CAR is a 98 s90
NO, I am not giving this one away
YES, there is some clear coat fading
NO, it does not effect the functionality of the wagon
YES, the wagon drives great and is READY TO GO
The car is in overall great shape with extremely low mileage and it has only had one official owner. I retain the original title signed over not dated ready to go and it is NOT in my name in case you are wondering. These 245 Volvo wagons in a 5 speed configuration are becoming few and far in between. Now is your chance to get your hands on one. Perfect first car, rally car, grocery getter, driver, commuter, drivers project as it is by no means a perfect vehicle. It is however a great foundation to have one awesome wagon with SUPER low miles.
