Vehicle description
For sale is my 1973 Carrera RS Clone. This custom backdate was built from a 1976 911S with all steel body panels (except for ducktail and bumpers) and finished in stunning Slate Gray over a custom black interior. The original 2.7 liter engine runs strong and has been upgraded with SSI Heat Exchangers, a custom dual outlet exhaust, turbo valve covers, oil fed chain tensioners, and more. This car sounds incredible and is an absolute joy to drive. In my year of ownership, my Porsche specialist has done thorough maintenance, including new sunroof cables, new clutch fork and cable, new front and rear Koni shocks (this car was factory optioned with the Koni suspension upgrade), and other items. This work is all documented and receipts will accompany the car.
Please note that due to my wholesale dealer license, this vehicle is not available to retail buyers seeking to register the car in CA. Buyers must plan to register the car in a different state/country, or have a valid CA dealer license in order to purchase.
The conversion is believed to have been completed by a now defunct company known as Precision Built. The company built a number of these RS clones in and around 2017. The cars were built to a spec that included all of the visible upgrades, including full repaint and brand new interior (including custom seats, new carpet, and new RS style door cards and dash), as well as minor performance upgrades, such as 964 cams. The Speedometer shows KPH, but the odometer counts miles and shows just over 5,000. Presumably, this is the mileage on the car since conversion, but there is no way to confirm that. Unfortunately, the car does not come with any documentation of the build specs or other service receipts prior to my ownership, as those items have been lost with prior owners.
The car is in excellent condition inside and out, as well as mechanically. Everything functions properly, including all gauges, electric windows and cabin heating. The car is not equipped with AC. There are speakers and wiring for a stereo, but the car is currently fitted with a stereo delete plate. With all of the recent maintenance, I would not hesitate to get in and drive anywhere. The engine revs and pulls as it should without leaking or burning excessive oil, the transmission shifts smoothly throughout the gears without grinding or hesitation, and the car tracks, turns, and stops as it should. The paint has a wonderful shine and shows like a recent high quality repaint should.
Thank you for your interest in my RS Clone! If you have any questions or would like to discuss an offer, please don"t hesitate to contact me. The car is located in sunny Napa, CA, and is ready for in-person test drives or PPI (at buyer"s expense). A deposit is due at purchase in order to hold the car, and the balance is due prior to taking possession via cash or wire transfer. Please note that shipping is the responsibility of the buyer, though I am happy to refer a reputable broker and help facilitate.
