* *THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION* * 1989 Dodge Ram D250. Powered by the bulletproof 5.9-liter 12 valve Cummins turbo diesel and Getrag 5 speed manual transmission combination. Low miles (102,000 original miles). The dodge was used and lived on a farm for most of its life, this is why the mileage is so low. Between 2016 and 2017 the Dodge received a mechanical and cosmetic refresh. Factory options include A/C, power steering, and power front disc brakes. The air conditioning system was recently completely updated with a new Vintage Air system. Garage kept.
MOTOR & TRANSMISSION- 5.9-liter 12 valve Cummins turbo diesel. Rebuilt 5 speed Getrag manual transmission. At the time of the transmission rebuild a new heavy-duty clutch, pressure plate, and throw-out bearing were installed. The alternator & starter were both custom built/fabricated to high output specs. New radiator, hoses, and belts. New high flow performance 3-inch exhaust system. Meticulously maintained. Bone stock motor w/no modifications. Very clean engine bay. No blow by. Heavy duty battery, K&N air filter. Runs, drives, stops, and shifts exceptional.
BRAKES & DRIVETRAIN- The 3.73 differential was disassembled and refreshed with new parts as needed. The complete power braking system was replaced and updated to a hydraulic brake assist syste m designed to work of the power steering pump. The upgraded brake system is a huge improvement in both safety and stopping power over the stock brake system. The steering is tight, and the upgraded brakes are phenomenal.
INTERIOR- The interior of the Dodge is in excellent condition. The front bench seat was reupholstered and received new padding. The seat is very comfortable for long trips. I just installed brand new carpet. The dash is in very good condition with no cracks. With the exception of the factory AM/FM cassette radio everything works including all electrical components. The rear and side windows have been tinted. Non-smoker. The interior is clean and comfortable with no smells or odors.
PAINT & BODY- The Dodge received a window out paint job in its original factory colors in 2017. The doors, windows, and associated hardware were removed in preparation for the new paint job. New windshield. New front and rear window seals. New grill and headlight assemblies. Very dry rust-free truck. No accident history. The paint shows very well however it does have a few minor dings, scratches, and imperfections.
OTHER- Newer Cooper Discovery heavy duty truck rated tires. New matching spare tire mounted on the factory steel wheel. New custom wheels and lug nuts. Recent alignment. Bed liner, engine block heater . There is a 7-pin trailer hook up inside both the bed for a camper, and a second 7 pin hook up on the rear two-inch receiver for a trailer. Prodigy electronic trailer brake controller.
This is a beautiful and rare example of a first gen 12 valve manual transmission D250. I always get compliments on the truck. The first-generation Dodge turbo diesels are considered by many one of the best trucks ever built, they are over engineered, bullet proof, reliable, economical, & built to last. All mechanical systems have been gone through (brakes, engine, transmission, exhaust, A/C, and rear differential). No expense was spared on the drivetrain and air conditioning upgrades.
