Vehicle description

Hard to find, real 1970 Plymouth Cuda 440 car with 727 automatic transmission. Factory original U-Code car, designating the 440 4-bbl High Performance engine. According to Galen Govier"s documentation, Chrysler built 952 total 440-4 Cudas in 1970, 618 were equipped with an automatic transmission and 334 of them were 4-speeds. Almost as rare as a Hemi Cuda at 652 total units, while 440+6 Cudas totaled 1,755 in 1970.
Car has an older restoration and presents itself very well. All panels are in excellent condition, straight, with no rust or other damage. Rear quarters appear to be the only sheetmetal panels replaced during the restoration as the car has original trunk extensions and outer wheel wells. Chrome bumpers, grill, trim and other brightwork are very nice. Go-wing is correct with under-decklid brackets and mounting hardware. Engine compartment and trunk area were not painted when the exterior and door jambs were finished. Inner fenders have some rust spots at the top of the shock tower supports that were repaired and still need to be finished out. Firewall is completely solid and dry. Floor pans and trunk floor are all original. Trunk pan has surface rust from moisture condensing beneath the trunk mat and would pass a screwdriver test. There are two spots of rust on the car. First is the left front torque box which was filled with dirt and sand. The other spot is just above the starter shield where it attaches to the bottom of the left front frame rail. The bottom edge of the rail appears to be getting soft. Pics of both areas are attached to the listing.
Interior is in excellent condition. Seats are all recovered, new carpet, headliner is nice, correct 70 center console, nice door panels, and very nice dash pad. Seat belts are fading in places and could be re-dyed.
I do not have a motor or transmission for the car and have no idea what happened to the original numbers matching engine. I purchased the car in northern Colorado in 2016 and it is currently being stored in Rapid City, SD at a shop specializing in Mopar restorations. I have a clear Wyoming title in my name. If you have any specific questions about the car or would like additional pictures, please e-mail me or call 3O7.689.4343 - Darren.
