Vehicle description
* * Need to re-list due to no paying bidder * *
Bidders, please understand selling an item on E-Bay is a process that involves costs and having to re-list due to the winning bidder not following through with the purchase is an expense no one person should force upon another.
This Cobra is a very early Cobra build as it was completed in the 70 "s supposedly by the son of a Ford Dealership owner. I was able to speak to the second owner, I have the name of the 3rd owner and I am trying to reach that person. I bought the car from the 4th owner making me the 5th owner. I don"t know how many replicar companies were already building Cobras in the mid 70"s but I would believe there could not have been that many at the time. Some of the parts on this car were actually parts from the parts bin available to the Ford dealership; such items include the original tail lights and front turn signals that were made in England by Lucas. The steering wheel and rims were replaced along the way by prior owners. I obtained photos from the second owner and I have posted them here with his permission. It shows one picture of the car being built, others before paint and a some after paint sometime in the early 80"s. Yes, this current paint job is over 35 years old. Again one of the earliest Cobra builds.
The look on these Cobras is timeless. This one was never a trailer queen. And has some nicks and scratches to prove it"s street cred. It has New tires, New Cockpit Cover, New Edelbrock Carb, New Original Points Style Distributor, Cap, Rotors, Plug wires, Plugs, Oil change, Fuel pump, Fuel lines, and the Steering was converted to Hydraulic Assist.
The engine is believed to be the same 390 and a C6 Automatic Transmission from a 67 Mustang and installed by that second owner. Mechanically, runs good, may need to be fined tuned. Easy to drive and well mannered.
This car has been driven and is used, therefore it is sold as a Used Car with no warranties neither expressed, written or implied. The car is also being sold locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early. Car must be paid for in full before leaving the premises.
I can"t stress this enough, this is from the early stages of Cobra kit car building. Given the fact that the car is over 40 years old it stands to reason the finish of this car is not perfect. This is truly an entry level Cobra and with a reserve at under 27K the price reflects the imperfections. If you are looking for a Cobra built yesterday, painted this morning and ready to run out of a dealership tomorrow with a 3 year warranty for next to nothing then as much as I need and would like to sell you this one, it will not be the one you had envisioned. But if you want a completed and drivable Cobra for the price of just a shell only to have to build upon that, then that is what this is; only its already built.
Please do not bid if you are not really interested in the car. Only selling the car due to a family illness that is preventing our use and enjoyment of the car. And do not bid to win if your intent is to not buy the car. If you are a buyer with less than 20 feed back and we do not speak during the auction I will have no other choice but to cancel your bid.
Good luck and happy bidding
