Vehicle description
Rare and desirable combination: Oyster Gold exterior, Cedar/Slate Grey interior, six-speed manual transmission. Vehicle is in all-round exceptional condition.
Exterior: Oyster Gold paint is excellent, shiny and fade-free. Absolutely no rust anywhere. Headlight lenses are clear and free from scratches. Speed-activated rear spoiler functions correctly. All exterior trim and badging is present and correct. Alloy wheels are all in excellent condition. Tires are from 2016 and have good remaining tread depth.
Interior: Two-tone Cedar/Slate Grey leather upholstery is in outstanding condition. Minimal wear on the driver’s seat bolster (a common Crossfire problem) or anywhere else. Note that in person Cedar is a burnt orange color, but digital cameras often make it appear more saturated and pink (which it is not). Headliner is pristine. All interior gauges and switches are in excellent condition and fully functional. Air conditioning blows cold. Heated seats, power windows, power locks all work like new.
Mechanical: Engine starts well, runs smoothly, and pulls strongly across the rev range. Clutch and transmission operate smoothly. Synchromesh is strong on all gears. Brakes work well and pull straight. Steering is well-weighted, accurate and free from unwanted play. Suspension is firm and well-controlled, with no rattles, clonks or squeaks. Absolutely no fluid leaks of any kind.
I have no maintenance history for this vehicle prior to the two years I have owned it, but it has clearly been lovingly maintained throughout its entire life. It essentially drives like a new car. Having said that, it is 15 years old and parts should be expected to fail periodically and need replacement. It is offered for sale with no warranty, expressed or implied. During my ownership, I have replaced the crank position sensor, and had a small dent in the hood (immediately above one of the battery posts) repaired. The vehicle has received a recent oil change and brake flush.
Known faults are minimal, and as follows:
- There are a few minor chips and scratches on the paintwork.
- There is a small crack in the cover of the speaker in the driver side door.
- Th e folding cup-holder between the seats does not work.
- The bulb for the passenger side fog lamp is broken.
